O.k so it looks like spike would be going to the dyno on next wednesday.
Taking guesses,
Lets see who get the right number.
The main specs are:

Fully built long block.
GT35R garret 82mm.
880 injectors.
Magnus intake.
Tubular mani.
3" turbo-back.
With AEM EMS.
No alchol or NOS and 94 pump gas.

Last time with did a pre tuned with chris and we just pushed to 351whp at 18psi on dsmlink and no magnus manifold.

If everything goes good i will have number on that day.

I have a better question. Who put the car together and whose tuning?

O.k,
Good questions, i forgot that info sorry.
I put the car togeter my self and we will do and inspection at the shop, the motor was put togeter by ajax engines.
Marco would be the one tuning and i would be aming for 28psi.

I'll call 320hp at the motor, blowing up when you try to go higher...

Manuel... it's SPIKE! You KNOW something bad's going to happen! *Laugh*

I say some insignifican rubber hose will melt, causing all your coolant to flow out and you won't notice and you'll seize your new engine like last time. bird

Other than that, 30psi should net 450ish to the wheels.

Good luck Manny!

P.S: I really want to run that at Shannonville. Maybe we'll have some fun with my quick spooling Evo III at the Maxim Wheels Lapping Day.

Don't ask them, ask someone who's been in one that doesn't own one!
They got used to the speed, that's why they had to go all the way past 400WHP tongue

I bet it's something like comparing a golf cart and a stock turbo DSM, though smile

On topic...
Can we get some A&W riding on this one, too?
I think at least you will break 400 easily on the base run, and after well beyond that if this thread didn't jinx it.

If you want to have some fun, ask Marco to take off the Magnus manifold and put a stock one back on so it'll make some more power! laugh

I realy want to see spike do 500+ it should be fairly easy to achieve.
This is just to see how the car will work at the track, I'll probably be replacing this turbo next season for a 3076R next season if this one is to much for lapping.

But keep gussing.

i think the fastest car i've been in has been (don't laugh) a 2003 Corvette which is only like what, 350 crank hp?

i'd love to feel what a 400+hp car feels like.

btw, my guess is 382 awhp @ 27psi

Well, all I have to say is that if you get 420 horsepower at the crank or at the wheels, that dyno sheet better be used for something else. tongue

In a perfect world 500WHP if the motor and setup is working perfect, and if Marco tweaks that AEM. 94 octane + 880's + 28 psi, I think you might be right at the edge.
Once I get my new keydivier chip anyday, I'll be running 30 psi on the 3065, but that is with meth injection/ultra94 and 1000cc's.

I say your gonna make 416 WHP.

I was in the passenger seat when Helder was turning up the boost in sergio's talon (got to about 25 psi). Was told about 400+ HP. at 70% or so throttle (was looking at AFC) i was pushed into the seat pretty good.

I must say, it feels like i'm pushed in 4 times harder than when i hit 13-14 psi in my car at about 80% throttle(pretty much stock).

felt nice. hoping to get mine there.

LOL, thanks for the kind compliment Ju. It does pull insanely hard that's for sure. I'm going to stay off boost for a week or so, I'm going to drive it normal to see what sort of mileage I can get out of a tank of fuel smile

I was doing some research and i saw cars with prety much my same set up as mine, all of them over the 500 mark.

BTW reza what you meant by
"on the edge"?

As on the edge for the motor? or maxing out the turbo, i think the 35R maxes at around 580-600, and the motor would take 500 easy.

Where do you think i would be on the edge?
I think wednesday would be one of those call "heart brakers"

Yes, I'd agree that setup should be able to post +500whp numbers, but if your running straight 94, I don't think you'll see those numbers. On an ideal tune I guess right around the 470 whp mark with 28psi but I think the straight pump will limit your tune. For this my guestimate would be more around the 440-450 whp mark. Now if you add some meth injection & some more boost, I would think that 500whp goal shouldn't be an issue.

This is like that SpeedTV show Time Slip or something like that. Guess the 1/4 mile time!

I'm going to guess around 433WHP. I was going to say 413WHP but Reza beat me to it.

I've been a passenger on a 350 (from what i can remember) whp car. He did a 5k launch and i was press to the seat on every gear. That convince me to get a DSM.

...what was i thinking! rotate

28 psi on my FP3065 with the 1000's and I have upgraded to a dual nozzle setup for the meth injection for it not to knock. I will be upping it to 30 psi soon, but never without meth.

Something to think about Manuel...

Yeah I agree with Reza as well. It's my first time using Meth and I really like the peace of mind it gives you. Run higher boost without the risk of running lean. That is if you don't forget to fill up the bottle when empty smile

So I guess Troy wins as he was the closest.

Manuel, I hope the damage isn't that bad though. Its early in the season so you still got lots of time to put it back together.

I was just thinking. Maybe this is his way of playing a trick on us. I bet when he gets the HP numbers he really wants, he's going to pull a line out of Scarface the movie and say:

"SUPRISE" 500HP

I'm pulling for you Manny. I hope Spike is okay smile

Oh man, now i feel like a dick.
It was supposed to be a joke, It did not blow up and i will pick it up today.

We only dialed 400whp, after fighting all the bugs spike still has problem with fuel, so untill i figure out what it is i will only be running those 400 awd at 19-20 psi.

Its very very strong, and with being that rich is very safe.

Sorry for the bad joke.

I said 420 and if this was The Price is Right (with Bob Barker, not that other dude cause I don't like his squinty face) then I think I'd have won with a guess of 420. Can't remember much about the rules though, maybe I'd have lost because I went over? I haven't seen the show in ages! tongue

Ha, in that case I was the closest @ 416 WHP.
Manuel, what kind of fuel issues are you having, too much or too little ?

Also, since you will be lapping the car it might be a better idea not to try to squeeze the most power out of it. 400 should be good enough smile

The problem i was having with fuel is that there was black smoke at higer boost.

But then the wide bands keep telling us we were lean.
I am desapointed, i know that everything is there to make the power its just that the fuel problem is dragging us down.
We fix lots of little electrical proble that keep showing up, but the one with fuel we are unsure of what it is.

I will drive the car with that power for now and focus on the rest of the suspension.
I might go with a 30r instead.

Will see how i like it.
But is sure that i would hit the dyno again in a couple of months to see if i can fixed that problem.

Drew Cary is the new host, and price right rules are if you bid higher you lose.

And 400hp is still really good! tu

Here is a pic of the ebay parts,
[Linked Image]
And here a lil video of the ebay parts not blowing on a 400whp pull.LOL.

[Linked Image]
Guys, the actual number was: 401whp at 20psi at 6000 rpm, the air fuel ratio was 13.46 by then and the car was pooring black smoke.
See whats my issue?.
The car had to stay again, we'll go for another round on monday.

Nice Manuel. Glad it was a joke! When you get your dyno tuning done you can post your plot in the dyno plot thread I tried to start last year!

I am running an AEM wide band, when i was running the dsmlink was fine.
I dont know anymore, we found out that the faking coolant sensor its bad(falling apart) and i dont want to mention what shop put it in, but their race car is a black 1g.

Anyways that could be the problem, because without it the EMS will try to compensate with trwing more fuel.

Hello Manuel.

Those are excellent numbers.

Let us know how things work after you replace that bad Coolant Sensor.

I was really hoping I'd be dead wrong... Glad I was. 'Only' 400hp? I hate you. wink

Black smoke, but showing lean. I wonder if perhaps one injector is sticking open, running it rich on a single cylinder?

Update.
So after i waet and pick up a coolant sensor from sergio's house this morning, i went to magnus and marco had already put in a GM sensor in it, and said that fix it and that he was not able to get at the car untill later afternoon.

So i went to the mall grab something to eat and came back around 7:30pm, we took the car to the dyno again, straped it, did a little run to log it and found out that the rich problem was fix.
Then did another run and found out that we where running to lean, after doing another pull and checked fuel pressure seems like the FUkin brand new 255High prssure walbro pump decide the take a dump.

This a fukin nightmare, i took the car just get it tune but this kind of bugs keep coming back.
Its been three weeks Fack.

Hello.

Dyno tuning always reveal the car weak spot, which can be good.

Odds are that this Pump is the last part and she'll be just fine after that.

You'll be rocking in no time.

Ghislain.

Hang in the Manny. I'm sure you'll start to see the light at the end of the tunnel soon.

I know the exact feeling, trust me. My car has beem a fackin' nightmare from the day I bought it. Forward 5 months later, nice weather is upon us and the car sits in the garage again. These cars are either on or off there's no in between.

P.S. If you don't have any use for the coolant temp sensor, I'll gladly take it back and refund your money smile

Thank you guys,
I think i am more pissed about the fact that its so hard to get marco on the dyno because he is so damn busy, and when we finally get him there, he does tow pulls and some little damn thing goes.
Even when everybody there has been very helpfull, Bruno the "new" mechanic, sean and even marco have so much patience with me and spike, I just want to get out of there.
I feel like i friking live there.

Its ok miguel i will keep the sensor.
I migth use it......you know.

So, Here are the final whp an boost numbers.
We finally finished all the little problems and put the did tuning today.

Spike ran 423whp at 25psi.
Its running nice and strong, it feel just fakin amazing.
Full boost at 4300rpm.
Not bad for the ol good 94 sunoco gas.

So who won?

-Manuel

Thanks to the guys at MAGNUS MOTORSPORTS.
After they dealt with me for more than three weeks figuring out bugs and issues, and 50 plus dino pulls,
they finally help me get spike to run some decent power on the safe side.
Thanks to Bruno, Marco and Sean.

Congrats, Manny. And hats off to Marco and crew... That should put more than 500hp at the crank. MUST feel amazing when you put your foot down.

Again, damned glad I was wrong. Just keep watching those guages. wink

Not bad Spike! With a GT35R, I think you should be making a little more at 25psi, but then again its not that bad for just 94 octane. As a tuner I think they have tuned your car to be on the safe side, which is good for the lapping that your car will be seeing.

Congrats Manny!

Yeah, same as what Reza said. Unless you throw some Meth into that beast to keep the knock down, they tuned it on the safe side.

on a DSM, how much of that power is useable?

can you even give it full throttle in a road setting?

Yes,
Marco was very please.
See,You hear all of this people oh 35r this and 35r but is not untill you hit the dyno that you relise how much pump gas can hold you back.
But beleave me 423 at 6000rpm and full boost at 4300, feels real good.
Like marco said "Spike feels like Fackin rocket", and i agreed with him.
And yes we tune on the safe side, Lapping would be harder on the car than doing quarter mile, And well i want at least to last me
This season.
