Please help, I have my tranny out and fix the clutch and pp. Now I can't get my tranny back in, its awd and I am having lots of trouble, I can't get the driver side cv out as it seems to be welded in. Is there a special way to get it in?? It came out with out much trouble.

Driver's side CV goes to your intermediate shaft. WHERE are you having the trouble.

And if you're a small guy like me, AWD tranny swap is a bitch.

I can get the tranny up to the right hight, but can't seem to get it back far enough to line up the intermediate shaft. Do I raise the tranny up the on an angle, I should have said I am doing this outside on cinder blocks. Please halp asap as I need to get the tranny in the car soon.

Are you trying to put the diveshafts in before you bolt the transmission to the engine?!?!?!?

I think he is trying to get the tranny into the flywheel/clutch/pressure plate assembly.

Did you do any work to the clutch? if you took the clutch off did you do anything to realign it when you re-installed it?

If you are trying to put the driveshafts in before bolting the tranny up your out to lunch.

did you unbolt the steering knuckle hub assembly from the struts?

Please clear it up so we can help you, your first post makes no sense at all.

No I just bought a good working driving car lol. The driver side cv is welded to the cv nut, so I was trying to get it in with the intermediate shaft and driverside cv in. I have since taken out the intermediate shaft. and am goin to try now

I still don't get it??

"the driver side cv is welded to the cv nut" so you are saying its stuck in the hub? thats fine you don't need it out right now

You should have no problem getting it back in, have you unbolted the intermediate shaft mount from the engine block? Unbolt it if you haven't, like if you just pulled the tranny out before without unbolting it, you'll never get it back in.

From what I can understand, you are trying to put the tranny back on with the driver side axle in it.

Unbolt the two strut bolts on both sides. You don't need to undo the axle nuts. The hub will swing freely once the strut bolts are out, enough for you to put the tranny on and then the axle in after.

^^ thats the best way to do it, zip-tie the ends of the axles that go into the tranny up out of the way keeping them clean, don't even bother removing the axles from the hub. let your motor hang down, and then bring the tranny up to it on a slight angle, watch you don't crack the inspection cover on the back of the tranny if your lifting it with a jack.

It is much easier with the UICP, battery and bracket removed.
