Your right Jeff, it is just the case that is aluminum, not the internals, so I can break it again. Since I had the center diff out already, I figured I would just throw in the 23 spline output shaft, as I had 3 spares: 1 new 23 spline USDSM t-case, and 2 other used 22 spline JDM's. The t-case I broke was one of those switchable 2WD/4WD ones. I initialy thought it must have broken from one of the switchable linkages inside, but once I pulled it off that apparently wasn't the case. Yep the internals are pretty much the same, the JDM's a little lighter cause of the aluminum casing

Also, I'm not sure about Reza, but no wife, no kids also speeds things up quite a bit. I've been staring at the same parts to put on the car since last fall. I would need only a day. I haven't seen that day yet.
Actually I am a happily married man up on my own feet, and will have my Accounting designation soon. My wife supports my habit, she thinks I am crazy, and she loves it. My whole family supports my habit, and they all bring their cars to me to fix. I have been playing with DSM's since 1997, knowing what your doing, and time management helps a lot. My wife see's what I accomplish with such little time and money, and admires me for it

OK, thanks for confirming. I switched to a 22-spline output shaft and aluminum t-case a while back after I stripped the output shaft (!!). So I was worried that I'd put a weaker part in there.

You're right, a supporting wife does make a difference. Now that I think of it, it was the kids that made the difference for me, slowing things down quite a bit.
1. Someone always has to be with them. 2. Someone has to take them to soccer, swimming, play-dates, dance, karate, etc.
Anyway, I don't want to get off topic, which I already did.
It sucks breaking stuff, but it's awesome too. I went to watch Marco at the CSCS yesterday, but he went down south to tune instead. I would have liked to see you run. I think we met at Magnus some time ago.

Yep, I can understand how the kids take a lot of time. When I have some, the DSM will be last on the list of things to worry about I probably won't even care so much about it then. Now lets get back to breaking some more parts

I can back-up the "kids" theory!
I'm going to be stopping at the Tim Horton's @ Hwy 20 and Mud St. around 10am on Saturday morning if anyone wants to come meet up there.
Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

I'd be there if I wasn't so broke, both me and the car.

Early? I thought it was from 11-4 ?? Being at Tim Horton's by 10 should get us to Cayuga by 11.

Ok, sorry.. I thought you meant you were getting to Cayuga early, and would meet us there.
See you at Tim's.

Well, I said I was going to break some stuff. I did. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything cool though. Just a drive belt, and a coolant line. On the way home... stupid DSMs. I didn't break into the 11s, either. Best of the day was a 12.26@117.6 MPH. New personaly best by a TINY bit, but best MPH by almost 4. MANY thanks the Rob, and Nick who were the first to stop and help me with the coolant line. MANY more thanks to Reza, and his entourage who stopped to help me with the drive belt. Thanks to you guys I managed to make it home without CAA. Reza, and Rob both got some nice personal bests today as well.

Hmmm... I'm not sure what's worse:
The shot of everyone pushing my broken car off the track, or the shot of me being 1/2" away from a wicked case of plumber butt...

Steve, glad to hear that you got home without CAA.
I'm very happy with my results. I pulled off a 12.64 @ 109.xx MPH (1.8 60') with my small 16g and a 270,000km engine. Last run of the day I had a 1.7 60' but missed 2nd gear, so I ended up with a 13.0, oh well.
A great day for sure.

Man, I wish I was there! Hope to have my car running this week and back on the road. Just got some new parts to throw in, so we'll see if I can't get this knock issue under control. Then I can have some REAL fun!

I got North Bay next weekend, King of the Hill or something. 1/8 Bracket racing. Going to enter the competition if I can get my car running well enough.
T&T Fri-Sat Sun Comp.
I think Malcolm Harris is going to be there too??
