I think its the same here in Sudbury. Regular gas is still $1.27/L which is about $1.50ish a liter for premium.

Yup, with the commodities market taking a dive it should drive the cost of oil down and hopefully lower gas prices.

Wow, their giving it away, where you are Kevin. I was pretty excited when I saw 1.235 for regular a couple weeks back, I believe it was 1.385 for Ultra 94, the cheepest I've paid all summer. Where is this $1/L crazyness you speak off? crazy

In their drug-crazed fantasy-illusion world, I think. wink

Down here in NS, with Govt. 'regulation', our price didn't go down like everyone elses. It went UP. Hooray for the govt. for protecting us! Oh, and I'm sure they're not that happy with the extra money they're taking in, either.

If you think prices are high now, imagine what will happen if Liberals are elected and Dion implements his so called "CARBON TAX PLAN". Expect another 5-10 cents minimum per litre.

This isn't true. It will effect diesel, propane, kerosene, etc but not gasoline.

In the end everything reflects on gasoline aswell. Higher diesel cost will mean higher transportation cost for everything from clothing to food. Take a look at what happened in B.C

Aren't energy prices high enough already?... do we really need to taxed further?

Yes, this is the starting point, but gasoline would be added to the list later...wanna bet?

I just heard it's supposed to go up 13cents over night. If there's truth to that, I'm not sure.

Probably just a ploy to get everyone to fill up.

Is that why I had to line up? bitch
I wouldn't know if it was because of a low price, because I hardly pay attention to it anymore, I normally just put in $20 blindly. Well, they got an extra $10 out of me today for my wait! bird

If it's not one hurricane, its another one.

Katrina ruined it for us 3 years ago, gas just hasn't been the same since.

Thats all bullshit because they didn't pay more for the gas that is already in the storage tanks. But they raise the price anyways so they make more on gas they paid less for. Bullshit, I am just going to start siphoning it out of peoples tanks.

Well we're down below a dollar here in Cobourg now. I think the lowest was 97 or 98 cents.

AND I just got 600 km's out of a tank of gas with two people, 2 bikes on top and fully loaded with luggage. Go talon go.

Gas in Bancroft is 99.9 yesterday. Weird how a town way up north has cheaper gas.

Bancroft is hardly way up north. Try in the Sault where gas is always about 15 cents more a liter. Also gas is cheapest in Ottawa, cheapest in Canada actually.

It's going to go up along with the stock market. But should level off probably around 1.05 I predict.

They tend to do the opposite eachother though. When oil is surging upwards via speculation the stock market is tumbling, and when the market bounces back oil sees sharp loses. That being said Oil is probably unrealistically low at 75-80 dollars a barrel.

This is true in the United States as their stock market indexes are not heavily weighted in commodities. This is not true for the Toronto Stock Exchange, it is heavily oil and gas and other commiodities. Of course there will be days when what I said is not 100% true as their are other factors dictating performance of the markets.

Look for example the days leading into a hurricane in the USA. Oil sees sharp increases in price driven by specualtion of lower production (supply/demand) This pushes oil prices to unrealistic highs, this in turn will lower stock market indicies.

Using this same example but looking at the TSX rather then an American index. You will still see the selling off of financial and tech type stocks but the oil stocks will see significant gains. In many cases this is enough to significantly outperform the American markets, because the TSX has half a trillion in Oil and Gas market cap.

That makes more sense. I would say the TSX is heavily correlated to the oil prices, hence whats been going on for the past month in the markets, which is why i was laughing at your prior statement.

Filled up on full-serve 94 yesterday @ 114.9 which I thought wasn't bad.

I was shocked when he asked if I wanted him to check my oil. I haven't heard that in years.

^^^ Thats because people stopped tipping gas bar attendants years ago when gas hit 55cents/L, I'll tip every now and again if I get good full service, usually due to shock

Luke, All Americans believe it's their God-Given right to have $0.50/L gasoline. Right up there with Guns, the Bible and being able to tell everyone else how their way is the RIGHT way to do things. wink

Yeah, It's still around $1.07 here.

What are the best stop-over points between Quebec City and East-end Toronto for gas along the 401? Any ideas? Esso/Imperial if possible. I need points!

Was 81.4 in Kingston when we stopped there. 82.x-86.x while we were in TO. But the 72-76 swinging back through the US was SWEET! 86.x back here in NS.

Now ONE thing I noticed. You guys are getting HOSED on your Premium fuels! Our prices go something like 86-89-92 for Reg-Mid-Prem. gas. Yours were like 81-89-96! I couldn't believe it!

86.9 cents here. Supposedly 84.9 cents some places. A little lower than I am comfortable with seeing as how important oil is to the economy here and how the dollar is tied to the price of oil.
