I've organised a karting series with the club I compete under, SPDA that's open to anyone. We have 8 people in one session already but have space for another 2 in session A and space for 6-10 ppl for session B (right now there is no session B)

So, need a competitive fix in the 'off season'? First race is THIS SUNDAY!

THE DETAILS:

All are welcome, but we have a maximum of 20 competitors!

RACE DATES:
Sunday, January 11th
Sunday, February 8th
Sunday, March 8th
Sunday, April 5th

Time: 10:00-12:00; Registration opens 9:30
Events may finish sooner depending on the number of competitors, etc.

Race Format:
10 laps - Qualifying
30 laps - Race #1
30 laps - Race #2
(70 laps total)
Lap times approx. 33 seconds.
We will randomly run the course in either direction for any of the races and qualifying!

Price:
$85 (Includes GST)
no membership required

Scoring:
There will be two groups, A & B, comprised of 10 competitors each. Points will be awarded from 1st to 10th position in Group A and from 11th to 20th position in Group B.

Starting order for Race #1, Groups A & B, will be based on qualifying times. Group A will be comprised of the fastest 10 qualifiers.

Starting order for Race #2, Groups A & B, will be based on fastest laps in Race #1. If a competitor has a faster lap time in Group B than somebody in Group A during the race, that competitor will move to Group A for Race #2 to battle for more points!

Karts:
All karts will be paced by Formula Kartways staff to ensure even performance between karts as much as possible. Unfortunately, we can't account for driver <ahem> weight...

Registration:
Entries will be confirmed by PM'ing me or posting in this thread prior to the event. Payments can be made at the track cash/debit/credit.

And is it $85 each day?

Yes. Their karts. I can't remember the speeds or any tech. specs. They aren't anything special. It's indoor karting on concrete that starts of cold and slippy when we get there and gets a little stickier by the end of our races.
We have some really good drivers.

It's $85 per race. Taxes included.

If you guys have never been there it is a decent track... one of the largest indoors in Canada. Race car driver built the track and designed the karts to favour those who brake, accelerate and take the turns on the right line... not like the pladium go karts, 7 hp engines on the karts.

My brother worked there a few years back and i enjoyed some of the benifits of the job.

As Andre said, it is a technical track that rewards good driving.
