So I use my 93 Laser AWD for winter autoX and don't drive it on the road.

I need to know if a VCE will last or will my center diff just blow apart?

Thanks Matt

It will blow apart. I only recomend welding the VC to get on the dyno. And use as a temp only.
Weld the center diff. Its not much more work to get it out then the VC is anyways.

Everythings new. Updates will be soon.

Thank you, not what I wanted to hear but what I knew was the right answer, might as well do it right once and just pull it out in the summer when I go lapping.

Should I just weld it or buy the TRE spool?

Thanks Matt

A mig will do.
And you dont need to remove the tranny to get the center diff out.

Any weld prep or just start burning.

I have read the few sites on the net and some say weld it all together and one says just dump the spider gears and weld the the two shafts to the housing.

I think I may just give it a nice preheat weld the crap out of everything and blanket cool.

Thanks Matt

The more in there you weld the stronger it will be. Just make sure its clean of all oil and such.
And also, make sure everything is all alligned properly before you weld or it will not go back together. I have an old tranny thats no good to set everything in and weld it. That way fittment is not an issue after.
