Could someone please post the part# for those two rubber grommets found inside the round shifter cable ends above the manual tranny. I searched thru CAPS and it does not list it. It might be that they're part of the cables and thus no part # exists.

I was under the impression that most people discarded those rubber grommets and replaced them with skateboard/rollerblade bearings which make for a more solid connection.

Sometimes I use words I don't understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

I recomend it. You just have to sand them a little bit they slide right on. I got to shift Tim Hunts car it feels way more solid and connected. Plus it will help force it into gear if your tranny disobeys. =]

I think I will be doing this aswell.

I have some if you really want them. They usually wont let you buy just 2 of them, you have to buy the whole package of 8 which cost me close to 20 bucks.

I think I'm missing the metal washer(s) which keeps the rubber grommet from popping out of the shifter cable ring frown. Luckily, I don't have to force it into gear (at least not yet).

I'll let you know if plan A doesn't pan out.

They look to be tack welded together. I hope all you'll need to install those are a pair of vice grips and some cussing.

I did the metal washer mod for mine, but I think that was more just for the mounts...

I'm not really sure why youd need to weld 2 of them together. Maybe we didnt do it right but me and Ryan used one per cable and it seems to be working just fine. They were a real PITA to get in so i dont see them falling out.

They come to me welded together like that, so I assume that is how they were intended to be used?

Check this out, a bit pricier but there were some comments on the downside to using the skateboard bearings.

I ordered the bushings from JNZ on Monday and they were here by Wednesday. I installed them and they did make a big difference, mind you I did replace the original stock ones so I think any product would of had the same effect.

It's the stockers that I'm replacing so that's good news. I tried to order them in last Friday but all I got was their answering machine. If Kevin and/or anyone else are ordering them, could you PM me please. Thanks.
