Hi,

Just wondering if anyone here know of a place where I can a 1.25 inch hose for the BOV recirc? I've heard of using the vacuum cleaner hose before, but its just not that appealing. The problem I have right now, is that the BOV is located right under the intake when I switched to the front mount.

Previously, I was running the GM MAF and venting out, but now I've decided to go with the 2G MAF and recirculate.

Thanx

What about some radiator hose?

I think I've seen some people use that before...

The problem I have i is that BOV is underneath the intake and you would have to bend it in a way that it would restrict the air because it is kinked at the bend.

Here is a pic of the set without the intake. You can see that the BOV will be right under the intake.

Nice setup.
For everything that you have, it's especially clean. Car looks imaculate too.

I guess you want to keep every bit of air seeing as you really have no "venting" issues since you are running a MAFT.

**Never mind, I see you've gone back to 2g MAF.

What about 1inch diameter polished "u bend" sort of deal with couplers??

Are you using the same SR piping or similar to it?

Crappy tire has some brass elbows in the plumbing section which could get the angle along with some rad hose.

Shop-Vac hose works but you have to keep heat away from it.

I'll check out crappy tire and homedepot on the weekend for brass elbows and create something eye pleasing.

Would PVC tubing work? Can it withstand the heat from the engine bay?

PVC

I think it will work!
I use PVC for my oil catch can and there's been no melting. It sits just about where your GM MAF is in that picture.

Hey Rob, are you using the 2G maf or GM-T?

First off, engine bay looks really good, you should be giving me advice!

I'd shy away from PVC, it will be pretty close to the block and will, I'd only use PVC where it is a straight, short route with nothing hot that can touch it. One of those J bends (aluminum or SS) would work and look good enough to go in that engine bay.

Thanx for the compliment.

I have been thinking about it and when I get a chance, I'll be calling up some muffler shops and see if they have any 1.25 inch aluminum pipes.

Are you having any problems between shifting? Running rich between shifts?

I don't have the driveability problems that others report with the set-up.
It could be any of:

- The EIDS in my fuel computer (HKS S-AFR) actually works as opposed to the S-AFC's "deceleration air" feature which does not work for DSMs.
- I am special.
- I don't notice the problem.

Why doesn't the deceleration air not work for the DSM? Can the ECU be tricked into understanding SAFC?

Well the S-AFC is trying to trick the ECU. For this feature the DSM ECU is not fooled. I don't think that can be solved.

The EIDS light on my S-AFR does flash on decel, so I know it's trying to do something!
HKS made a stand-alone EIDS: http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=2175

Finally got the 2G maf set up complete. I ended up using one 1 inch 90' copper elbow and a couple of rad hoses from various stocks to mock up the 2G maf set-up.
