single kit has one beam. hi/lo is for a car that utilizes one bulb for high and low beams.

hi/lo kits are $69 plus shipping so I'd say around $85us to be safe.

Just remember to add %3 for PayPal fee as they charge it.

how do we want to set up the money thing?

I don't mind doing the financial thing, but I'd need the funds prior to ordering.

Once we have a set amount of people, I'll get an exact quote and PM everyone their total.

If that works, let me know!

There are discounts but I doubt we'll get 5 people to get hi/lo's tongue

If we do, I'll get the discounted rate.

6000k is PURE WHITE, 8000k is White with blue hint, 4300k is white with a yellowish tint (almost sotck looking).

I personally use 8000k on the Eclipse and 6000k on the TrailBlazer. Both are awesome.

Ok, so deadline will be Monday, June 8th 2009.

Tuesday I will get totals.

Friday, June 13th, I will place the order giving you ample time to transfer funds.

canadiangsx@cogeco.ca

For either PayPal or email transfer.

I will confirm receipt via email.

In the NOTES section, include your shipping address.

I will ship them out. I'm guessing around $10-12 to ship from K0C 2A0 to the GTA.

Can you get HID's for the fog light?

I'd want 3500k for them

for a 90?

if my research is right they are 880's but cant find the bulb type for certain.

Really guys, that many people wanting the 8000K setups? They offer less light output & the colour is annoying to other drivers. Real HID system use ~4300K, I wouldn't go with anything over 6000K, unless you like the rice look. I run 5000K, the light output is amazing & the colour output is perfect as it more closly resembles a real HID output, not someone trying to make it look like their car has real HID's by just using a colourful bulb.

Ok, so, on Monday, June 8th 2009, I will PM all parties involved their totals.

Shipping from me to the GTA (L5E 2M7 which is pretty much in the middle) will be $15 per package via Xpresspost 2nd day.

So your PM'd total will be broken down like this:

1- Total for the packages
2- Total for the shipping of the packages
3- 3% PayPal fee for the above
4- Total for shipping to you from me

All will be in Canadian Dollars at the bank exchange rate as of June 8th 2009.

Also, just tossing this out there, if someone wishes to save some shipping for everyone in the GTA, I am willing to meet in Kingston for $40 to cover my gas. It will then be their responsability to distribute the kits.

Louis, another option is for you to hold on to the packages until the Invasion date. By the time we place the orders, and the orders get here from Japan, it might be a 1 - 1.5 week wait before the Invasion. That way people can save on the shipping and we can all install our HIDs at Cayuga when we get there.

That way it will save some bucks. It's what I will be doing preferably over the shipping!

Some people are probably slightly more impatient. ahaha.

Hmmmmmmm... I will not be committing 100% until I see some pricing. By the look of it, it may be cheaper for me to just order the kit myself and have it shipped to my door. That way I'm only paying for shipping once.

I totally agree with you Mark, I don't mind getting the items shipped to me but I'm not biting the bullet on in-country shipping smile

Brandon makes a good point too. I can bring them to the Invasion as long as people can wait until then

Manuel, most guys with a seperate bulb for low & high normally just get the low kits. The lows alone will be much brighter then your stocker, I know most (myself included) barely ever bother to use my high beams anymore, as their not needed. Another concern is if your lows goes out when your highs turn on, HID's have a delay before they ignite & then take about 20-30 seconds to get up to proper colour temp. Defently not a good idea as thier may be times when you see no light output.

It will then be their responsability to distribute the kits.

what about customs and brokerage fees .. ur definately going to get hit with those especially with a big shipment

good luck

Replacement bulbs are $6US. How frequently do these need replacing? Is it worth buying a spare set now? Are they more fragile than halogen bulbs?

They last for 3000 - 4000 hours if usage apparently. The website just says >3000.

I also know when installing, don't put your fingers on the bulb at all. They are hotter than regular halogens and the oil from your fingers can ruin the bulb easier on a hid bulb.

Do they have fog lights hids available?

Also roughly how much are they going to be Canadian? I'm probably going to want a set of h4s

From VVME discussion:

**************
for single beam kit ,$47each bi-xenon kit $79 each
yes ,all price shipping included
this is our updated lower price

In additional ,items will be shipped by DHL /carrier ,which only 2-4 to arrive .
we'll declare it gift or sample with a very low value.,so you can avoid tax or VAT.
All products 14 month warranty .

***************

Canadian Pricing as of TODAY:

Single Beam Kit $56 +3% PayPal fee ($1.68)
Bi-Xenon (Hi/Lo) $91 +3% PayPal fee ($2.73)

The low value as gift is good but the package total will incur $5-$7 duty fee per kit so lets call it $6. (I contacted a broker friend of mine here to confirm this)

The totals including possible duty AND PayPal fees are:

Single Beak Kit $63.68
Bi-Xenon (Hi/Lo) $99.73

If they do NOT charge is the duty, this amount will be FULLY refunded as I do not want to make ANY money on this at all. I'm just coordinating it.

I will scan/post all paperwork once I receive it for all to see along with all PayPal transactions from ME to VVME.

^^^ Very well, the order will be placed Friday June 12th 2009 at 6pm.

Once I post the real total, just make sure I have the funds by then.

Email transfer is definitely preffered that way we would avoid a 3% PayPal fee from you to me. If you MUST use PayPal, add 3% on the TOTAL of your order.

I.E.: $63.68 (VVME total including duty/paypal for THEIR fee) + 3% for transfer fee from you to me. ($1.91)

So it'll be 1.91 on top of the 63.68?

Yes, but only if you send me the money via PayPal. If you use email transfer don't worry about that.

PayPal, unfortunately but that's how they make their money, charges 3% on all transactions.

The $63.68 would be what I send to VVME. the $1.91 is what PayPal would charge me to accept your transfer...fun huh?

How do these HID kits look on a 1g with regular stock headlamps ?

I am assuming I'll need to upgrade my headlamps to the clear ones.

Probably should upgrade them, but you can angle the bulbs down so it doesn't blind people.

I'm out. I would need it shipped to my house and it's just cheaper for me to go directly through vvme myself. Here's a revised list:

Also, if you guys can arrange a person for me to bring them to the GTA, I can leave them there if you're not going to the invasion.

I just want to be clear on something here, there is no real savings with this group buy.....

The regular price is $52us shipped + PayPal fee.

The whole point of this buy is to simplify it but obviously there will be complications regarding delivery from me to you, if you're NOT going to the invasion.

I need to know by TOMORROW, SATURDAY JUNE 6th 2009, if you prefer doing it by yourself to get it shipped ONCE to your door or if you can hold off until the invasion for me to bring them.

Obviously, I won't ship kits from Cornwall to the GTA on my coin and you will find yourself double charged for shipping.

Remember, you are not really saving anything here...well...$6 wink I'm just trying to help out.

It is probably best that I back out to, seeing as you would have the hassle to ship my package to alberta. Thanks, for all effort and thought Louis.

As far as I know, this is where we stand:

Louis Savard - 9006 - 6000k - 1
Manuel Salazar - 9006 - 6000k - 1
Rob Greer - 9006 - 6000k - 1
Stacey Shaw - 9006 - 5000k - 1
Jason mcclelland - h4 - 3200k - 1(as yellow as she gets lol)
Jeremy Davis - 9006 - 8000k - 1

Let me know by noon tomorrow the latest.

This is what the kits will cost:

Single Beam - $63.68 (email transfer) +$1.91 if you use PayPal
Dual Beam (Hi/Lo) - $99.73 (email transfer) + $3 if you use PayPal

Jay, add $11.50 for your "special" color.

PayPal AND email transfer go to this address: canadiangsx@cogeco.ca

As long as we have 5+ this is the price we are getting. If we dip below 5 kits, we have to add $6.90.

The order will be placed on Friday, June 12th.

So it turns out I miss calculated.

We needed 11-20 kits to get the pricing I posted shuffle

However, they will honor the pricing as originally we would have been in that category smile

Nice people to deal with!

For everyone's info.

The kits were as follows:

$50us for single kits ($65cdn)

$82us for the hi/lo kits ($94.30cdn)

$10us ($11.50cdn) for Jay's "Special" color tongue

Basically they waived the PayPal fees so we could keep close to the original 11-20 pricing.

They also advised that everything will ship out as soon as it is marked "cleared" by PayPal which per PayPal is 3-5 days.

I'll keep this posted with all info!
