I am assuming that he needs all the info that we would provide ECM LINK with on their website.

CBP and Canadian customs do not waste their time on small stuff like this b/c its not worth the effort or man hours for the reward other than principle to nail a small company without hard evidence of these actions. I see it everday in my job.

Usually if business is done on the internet this proof is very hard to do if its not declared at the border or to the tax office and really they are small fish in the scheme of things and wouldn't even be looked at.

If their business practices bug you so much why not make a bad guy post as per proper forum etiquette ? and warn everyone instead of repeating yourself ?

As for them not suing you maybe they just don't care to waste their time on something that could probably not even be proven in a court of law unless you have written hard evidence but even then they can claim market condition for canada changed thus we sold it for a reduced price.. I am sure that they are not dumb enough to sell the product for X dollars and then report to their tax office that they infact sold it for another amount. lol.

If you have such hard evidence why not take further course of action instead of slandering them on the net ? does what they are doing effect your business ? If not then why keep bashing them ? Word of mouth doesn't stand up in court.

If it is of such moral dilemma to you why not make it right or at least take the 5 minutes and make a bad guy post instead of lurking in the shadows ?

I am calling BS on the hard evidence or I really don't see the point to keep bringing this hatred for ecm tuning's business practices if you are not going to do anything about it ?

I admire your moral conviction for this issue but really unless you actually do something about it you are just cluttering the board, breaking forum rules and wasting your time b/c no one seems to be paying attention.

Good luck in your fight against ecmlink

The bad guy thread would look something like this:
"ECMLink are bad guys because they like saving you money on shipping and border crossing fees. They have made the best tuning program for DSMs at a reasonable price when comparing to other company products that sell tuning programs. But since they like to save you money on taxes and brokerage fees, they are assholes and no one should purchase from them."

They need

Your car (1G or 2G)
What size injectors you are running
MAF Type (stock, 2G on a 1G, 3" GM MAF with MAF-T, Hacked 2G MAF, Galant VR4, evo8 / 3G eclipse, 3" GM -> ECU, 3.5" GM -> ECU
Desired Username for the forums

Tara did bring up a good point, does the group buy include Socketing the ECU? Or will that cost extra, if so, do they include that in the paypal money transfer, or is that something separate they need to pay for?

Stock injectors on a 93 tsi awd are 450cc correct? Also I don't think it has socketing included. You would most likely have to go to a local electronic shop for them to socket your ecu for you. Would cost around 30$ (estimate).

It replaces your maf with a GM one.. lets you do some neat things, plus lets you vent your bov.

IF you get ECM tuning to socket you r ecu it is 30 dollars for caps + socket.. But you have to pay shipping bomb

Ok, thanks. I don't think I'm going to send them my ecu, I'm going to get it done locally.

It does not include socketing. The group buy is for a DSMLINK V3 kit.
Maybe someone wants to volunteer to socket them for us, and make $29 bux each... as a socket costs about $1, you can google how to do it... That can be done on another thread. Like "socketing service"

I'm fine with it, I just don't know how to do it lol. Could you possibly write a small guide over pm or here for others that don't know how? My mom is going to be doing it, I don't bank online so it's all her lol. She needs some guidelines etc.

I would not go that route.. I thought I was good enough to solder, but I did a lot of damage to my ecu. I had to send it to ECM Tuning for repairs and spent 156US on just repairs. After shipping both ways it was about 200 Canadian.
They do AWESOME work though, their soldering job looks as if it was done by a robot.
Would defiantly recommend them doing it for you.

Wouldn't an electronic shop do just as good of a job? And it will be less work for me.. Heading to bed now too so I'll continue this convo later.

Nevermind about the guide Brian, I just read the step by step thing from interac lol. It's in the link below, can you verify that is the correct way to send to you?

You can vent anyways smile I always vented to atmosphere, with a 2G MAF, 550cc injectors, walbro pump, and 15psi on a 14b, never had any problems!

And GM MAF only allows you to run BOV to Atmosphere if you run blow through not blow by, aka you have to run the MAF on the intake manifold pipe, not on the turbo inlet pipe.

He is really good , hes doing mine right now and you should have it with in a week. the night he gets it he'll do it and then ship out next day.

I wanted to do locally but .... dont really want someone who never played in an ECU to frack it up because it is 250$ to get another Eprom ecu.

This is the info I will need from everyone. I will be filling these out for each person, making a huge shopping cart, and checking out with a special discount code which he is going to make up for me.
Some have already given me the details which is cool

I used rbc.com. did you add him to your list of payees? 1st you add him to your list, then click pay bills/payee and enter amount with the question and answer and it should work. i have never got that limit error so its probably something on your account. why dont you just pay with paypal?

I'm almost 100% sure she set it up. I'm trying again at midnight, if that won't work I guess its just you 5. Fkn banks are stupid.

EDIT: She does online banking nearly every day so it's been setup for sure.
