LOL. That took longer than I thought. If you had felt the "lag" between shifts I was getting, you'd know why.

I'm pretty sure I've fixed it now.

BTW: You know of anyone else that needed race gas to run an 11 that day? I'm pretty sure Reza ran his 10s on pump even...

Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

Lag between shifts?
Have you seen my turbo? Jeez. I have huge lag between shifts.

Bite me. You're slow. Race gas or not.
You were running 26-27 psi. Did you see anyone else there running that high a boost level to run a 12?

You've always had that lag between shifts. I've just started to have it happen. Ie: it made me slower.

I know of one guy there that was running 32psi to get some 13s.

Btw: my 12.4 was WITHOUT race and WITHOUT meth. Sucka.

"Btw: my 12.4 was WITHOUT race and WITHOUT meth. Sucka."

So was my 12.1

But you are missing the point...for years you told me I couldn't drive. Now I'm going faster with less MPH than you.

BTW, getting a DD is what made you slower tongue

Was the hassle/cost of adding that "bolt on" turbo worth 3 tenths? demon

You still can't drive. I need more practice. Remember, that was my first day using the stutterbox/NLTS in almost 1.5 yrs.

By the end of the day, I had cut 2 tenths off my 60' time. The exhaust manifold gasket had me in the 106mph range and 13s by then, though. frown

What about you?
You went from a 16g to a 20g and got SLOWER!

When its all said and done, you can say what you want,
But I've got lots of 11 second time slips. How many do YOU have?

Yeah that's what I thought.

At least you see allowed to talk sh!t.

I never said I wasn't a bad driver, because I know I am. My point is HE has no ground to talk sh!t. He's slower than me, and in racing that's what matters.

Best on 20G: 12.2

Funniest part of the day...

Steve and I are tech'ed first. So Steve says, come on let's go! And all I can think of is that this first race will set the tone for the whole day...meaning if I lose, it's gonna be a miserable day. Steve is the best at mental mindf@cks. He always messes with me mentally...psyches me out. So thank GOD I won that race smile

It will be a long winter.

I encourage Steve all the time:
To clean up the car
make it look pretty
and to run 11's

11.9x would be just fine tongue

I finally got my account back so now I can comment. This was my first dsm event and the first time running my car. It was also my first time racing on a drag strip.

We left Mississauga at 7:15 on our way to the service station and got there at about 8:30 as there was litterally zero traffic. We felt a little out of place because we had the only trailered car and no one else had a fully stripped interior. Plus on the stock exhaust our car sounded wimpy. Also we were still running a stock turbo, injectors, sidemount and intake.

We got to the track and teched in. Then we took care of the exhaust problem with the saw. Cut the downpipe right at the flex. Problem solved. Took the car out for the first run. Which was the first time the car was driven since we finished it and put it on the trailer about 12 hours earlier. It got us a terrible 18.1et @75mph with a 2.3 60' . Tried again as I missed a gear due to no shift knob( forgot at home). Same thing, missed another gear and the car was running terrible.

Went to work on it and finally got my fuel pressure gauge working and found one of the problems. We were running 60psi at idle. Tried to turn the pressure down but it wouldn't go down, only up. After checking everything over we found a kinked return line. After we fixed it all was ok with the fuel. So we set the pressure and the timing(thanks for the light reza). As we were about to leave for another run ju asked about our lack of a shift knob. Then walked over to his car and took his off and lent it to us. And if that wasn't nice enough he looked at our engine and saw no boost controller and went and took that off his car too. What a nice guy.

We went for another run and got the best time of the day. 14.1@100mph 1.8 60'

we played with tire pressure and everything and that's all we could manage. We think our viscous coupler is broken. Oh well. Not bad for the cars and my first time out.

Just wanted to saw thanks to everyone who helped us all day. Especially Ju and mike.

Hope to make it out to the next event.

Wish I could have knocked 4 seconds off my first run! wink

The sawzall mod was awesome, Tyler! The sound of an open DP like that brought back memories of an old guy (Brett TerSmitte) and his "Millenium Falcon". (Fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy!)

I've noticed in some pics of your launches that there seems to be a fair bit of tire smoke from the front wheels (For an AWD car) so I think you might be right about the VC.

That was a fun time.
Taking a car that was just put together and trying to figure out all the little bugs.

Congrats on getting it down from a 18.1 to a 14.1.
very respectable.

Cost would be my reason plus everyone having the time off at once.

For St. Thomas I could only afford to go once a year. If it wasn't a long drive. It would be easier for me to do it more often.

Having only one event makes it that much More "special".

Gives you something to look forward to.
Having a bunch of them would make people have to choose, because it would be unlikely you could attend them all.

I'd love to see more people next year. We could easily have 30 people without affecting the amount of runs you get.

How about different events then. Maybe a couple drag races and some lapping days? Especially if they were at different tracks. Its more fun if we do stuff as a group more often(sitting in a parking lots isnt the same).

With these events its all about someone stepping up and organizing it.

Most times it doesn't involve much effort, just a volunteer who can set it up.
