Hey all, I don't have a 2G yet, but I'd like to have whoever on this site has an FMIC with a 2GB eclipse front bumper post a picture and let me know what the intercooler is!

Thanks all!

Red turbo eclipses famous black car drool
That car used to be my idol/inspiration
EDIT: If you can be a baller get the ETS kit. Mark M.'s spyder and Paul S.'s talon have it. Keeps the fogs, and better kit than the GReddy. Its what I want one day. If fogs dont matter to you as much you could find something cheaper. If quality doesnt matter and you want fogs, get a Greddy or I beleive the hahn race craft keeps em too?

I'm looking more so for the core itself. I'm sure I can get some custom piping that will allow me to keep my fogs in. Basically, I'm looking for an intercooler core that will fill the entire mouth of that 2GB front eclipse bumper.

anyone know how those Yonaka front mounts look on a 2G?

Greddy Short Route FMIC then...I'm pretty sure that most long routes will make you lose your fogs unless you do a little fabrication smile

I'm trying to avoid the extreme price of the greddy kits. I'm looking to spend about $400 - $500 for the FMIC setup.

I'm sure with me and Louis putting our minds together we will have no problem doing it tongue Our combined brain power alone will bend the metal. There is no spoon. tongue

Does the pipe just go through right where the back of the fog lights are?

That intercooler looks GREAT in there Tara. Really fills it right up! I like it alot!

Definitely one I will be keeping my eyes on. I think Ziggy can get pretty good prices on Yonaka intercoolers too.

Great looking car Tara!

Thank you! smile
I was looking for the same thing, I wanted it to fill the whole front. I have everything Yonaka (Stainless steel piping, silcone couplers, and intercooler). I'm really happy with everything!

Hmm back to the topic I dont remember how much space the fogs take up, But what if you cut off the inlet/outlet and angled the pipe back and up. I doubt thatd make it fit but just maybe...
Air flow would be smoother no?

taken with my cell phone so quality isn't the best, plus it's at night but you get the idea.

This one was purchased used from a board member. Was told it's a Yonaka.

Anyway, both mine and Tara's bumper has been cut, so you know.

edit: also, I don't have the stock fogs, so am not sure if it will fit or not. These cheap aftermarket ones I will be removing soon or making custom bracket so I can center them.

The Hahn Kit is priced at $629 currently, and that includes the lower piping, as shown here;
http://www.turbosystem.com/hahn/parts/intercool.htm
Note in the pic its a N/T kit so the pipes are flipped, here's mine:

I am definitely liking the Yonaka FMIC. Maybe I can do some fabrication with getting fog lights into the furthest outside bumper hole. It looks like I could work something out there!

Brandon IMO if you relocate them like that they better be low key or it wont be worth doing at all. Personally Mine are my DRLS and I like the look of em the way they are. I dont like the gaping hole look. Though the nice intercooler offsets the negative, and a nice car can make you forget about it. But stock fogs look cleanest.

I would get a black plastic cut out made to fit the hole perfectly, then mount in the fog light, then put a nice clear plastic cover to it.

Could probably have both the cut out and the plastic made for cheap, $100 for both sides no doubt.

I love the fogs forsure, but I'm not going to spend 800 - 900 dollars on an FMIC kit that works just as well as a $400 dollar kit just to save my fog lights.

Besides, 3" intercooler pipes look just as nice tongue

Brandon, before you start saying the $800+ intercooler kits work better than the 400 dollar kits make sure you are comparing apples to apples and you have performance numbers to back kit up.
Look at numbers such as pressure drop, IAT's etc before you say they work the same.

For example the Hahn kits are using true Spearco intercooler core's, the Yonkata's nope, the Hahn/Spearco cores are another 1/2 in thicker doesn't seem like a lot but if one intercooler was 2 1/2 in thick, and one is 3 which would you pick,
The Hahn is probably one of the easiest bolt on kits I have ever seen as well, plus also one of the strongest.
A couple of years ago I accidentally slid the jack under the car, and up and away. After the car was about 8-10 in off the ground, I realized that I missed the cross-member and was using the FMIC as a jacking point. With the exception of a scratch on the bottom of the FMIC it came away unscathed

For my HP goals, an SSAC or Yonaka intercooler core will work just as well as the rest. When I start getting up intil the 400 - 500 + hp, then I will have to upgrade, but from what friends, and people on Tuners have said, the yonaka and ssac intercooler cores work just the same as the expensive ones.

SSAC kits seem to be pretty damn decent from what I've read on Tuners. Some big numbers with them.

I've got an SSAC kit I will be installing once my bumper comes back from paint. I'll be keep the factory fogs too. I'll post pictures of the whole process.

With the SSAC, you cant keep your fogs. That's the one Jamie Loo sells (and I have it on my car).

Someone posted a thread where they made a custom bracket for the stock foglights. It moved the fog forward and looked pretty good.

Hopefully they don't have to move forward much!

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I installed my Punishment Racing FMIC kit a few weeks ago, $400 US for the kit, and keeps your fogs and your crash bar.
