I'm selling my 1990 Eagle Talon AWD N/T. It's black, 5-speed, p/w, p/l and is a monster in the snow. It's slow on asphalt as you can imagine.

The Good

Reliable 2.0L n/t motor.
Solid shifting transmission.
New rotors and brake pads.
New rear brake lines.
New windshield.
Good winter tires.
New battery.
New thermostat.
New headlamps and rebuilt pop-up lights.
Good balljoints & tie rods.
Remote starter and door lock key FOB.

The Bad

Bad rear struts.
Rust on rear quarter panels.
Paint is bad.
Cracked front bumper.
No CD deck or shift knob.
General wear and tear on the interior and exterior.
Power steering leaks so it's disconnected.

This is NOT a summer car. This is a winter beater. I just bought a 2005 Saab 9-2x AWD and this car is just taking up room on the driveway now.

$1000 cash O.B.O.

This is her in all her glory. Trust me, she doesn't look good without snow on her.

That's nice Matt. Thanks for your comments. The fortunate part of the equation is that I have another POS talon at home that makes more power then 99% of the people on this board.

I was actually just talking about that with a friend of mine, i thought it would be a great idea to have a non turbo AWD for a winter car, you get great gas milege and reliablilty and of course the AWD fun in the snow.

What's it going to take to pass safety?

The suspension ball joints and tie rods are all tight, windshield all new and good, new brake lines and new rotors and pads. No rust holes. All the lights work. Nothing bad.

I'm no mechanic but I don't believe it would take much if anything at all. Would a mechanic look at the lack of power steering as a certification issue? If so, I have a good rack here in my garage that doesn't leak.

Yeah, lack of power steering will fail a safety.

The rack will have to be fixed or swapped out with my other rack. We can discuss if anyone's seriously interested.

Alternator died on me so it was changed with a brand new rebuilt unit. Power steering is something I can't tackle due to the time involved. If someone wants to change it out and use the car for the winter, it's now $900 as is.

I got it running nice and good now as well. It doesn't even need TLC. It needs an oil change and a power steering line to be fixed. Then drive it all winter long.

I wouldn't say the car is corroded either. The motor mounts and backets and such have a dusting of surface rust on them from being on a winter car for 4 full winters, but everything is still solid.

It's a great winter car for someone to continue to drive. It has a nice remote starter so you know you're getting into a warm car.

I'd sell it to you. No problems. I just wanted you to be sure that it is a winter car. It's not nice. But it moves, it has been nothing but reliable to me and it still has a few (2+) more seasons in it before the rust kills it.
