So for the past bit my shifter has been very notchy and hard to get into gears some times. I can be cruising nicely or even beater on it a bit.
What could be the cause?

I have shift plate bushings and the under hood bushings sitting around somewhere, I'm gonna put them in this weekend to see if it solves the issue.

Sounds like your clutch isn't getting fully engaged. Maybe bleed the system, check for air, make sure it's adjusted properly. That will go a long way, before replacing parts.

May also need to adjust the shifter cables.

Changed the bushings today, it's 1000x better now.
