After less then 5 months of use my tranny is starting to grind again..
it is currently being replaced under warrenty which ends next month

i dont think that the tranny went bad (grinding into 2nd. difficulty into reverse etc) because of bad shifting... so what are the other things i can check

If it isn't your tranny then something is out of adjustment, like the master cylander rod, cables etc.. Or you just need to bleed the system well.

I'd rule thoes out completely before swapping trannies. What if the next one they put in really is a dud and you don't find out until after warranty?
