I was looking at my turbo and I noticed that the flapper does not cover the hole completly. Is this normal?? I don't remember what my other one was like. There is maybe an 1/8" + gap on the one side of the flapper. Will this affect boost at all??
I have pics but don't know how to post them...

It should compleately cover the Hole. The Arm might be bent or something.

The Flaper Arm Seems to be the cause of the problem. Is there or can you see any wear in the Casting or in the Axle (for lack of a better term)???

There is no play that I noticed confused
Could the spacer possibly be to big, the one right where the wastegate attaches??

I believe there is a pressed-in bushing that the flapper arm pivots in. Have you tried hammering on the end of the arm to hopefully push the bushing in farther?

It may damage the arm but I don't see another way. Maybe if you have access to a press it would minimize the damage.

I had this happen on my 14B. Needless to say I had huge turbo lag! What it was, and judging by the picture, it's the same for you, the bushing that the flapper arm goes through worked it way out of the turbine housing. Probably because of the heating/cooling cycles. I fixed mine by gently but firmly tapping it back in place until the bushing bottoms out. Once done, the crack will be gone, and be prepared for very quick boost buildup. Hope this helps!

Yup, the arms warp and bend over time and I have seen it on many exhaust housings. I usually just bash it back into place.
