Now that car is running good its time to change out my tranny and rear ends.I have heard good things about gm synchromesh and bg syncromesh.I have redline in my 99 ta and don't think it works that well..I also like amsoil but not really their tranny fluid either. So anyone run the gm synchromesh.Might be easier to find than bg synchromesh and is it safe for the tranny..? Mine shifts pretty darn good no grinds and seem to get my gears which is rare after testing several talons that had bad synchros.Guess maybe I got lucky.

What you're looking for is BG Synchroshift II (synthetic) for your manual transmission, and synthetic GL5 oil for the transfer case and rear diff (AWD). You should be able to track some down locally. Call around, I found many shops that knew of it, or had it. There is also a shop-finder on the BG web site. More info: (Google.com is your friend) http://www.bgprod.com/bgprofessional/bgproducts/dline.html http://members.shaw.ca/costall/1000Q/answers-problems.htm#bgsynchroshift http://www.machv.com/bgsynchroshift.html http://www.extrememotorsports.com/g1cat/transaxl.htm http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclfluids.htm http://www.diamondstarspecialties.c...Talon&subname=DSM&productid=BGSS You could always ask the transmission gods at: http://www.teamrip.com/news.html - or - http://www.shepracing.com/services.html Happy shifting!

I dunno I like redline better than gm in my car. Almost buttery smooth even in the winter. Well I'm speaking in relative terms As buttery as it gets. But you can try out the gm stuff, it's cheap. Give it a few weeks though to settle in. I find oil works better after a bit of a breakin.

GM was a good choice when it was cheaper. Now for a couple bucks more you can get Redline, much better than GM IMO. Im not sure of where you can get BG locally, but Redline does the trick, I have Redline HeavyDuty Shockproof Gear Oil in my T/C and rear end, just some no name brand in my tranny, but it doesnt grind either (knock on wood). Redline MTL will be going into the tranny in the spring.
