My car has to the ever so popular idle surge. (91 tsi) i checked the resistance on the ISC and found one set to be around 98ohms (supposed to be less than 30) i assume my isc is hooped as my car surges quickly between 1200-1600 rpm over and over. I dont feel like investing the cash in a new one, so im looking for a used one- heres the q- when checking a used one, can you get accurate resistance readings with it being cold? Also, what causes isc failures... time and wear or are there things that can cause it to fail?

why dont you just disconect it
