New lower price.

$2700 obo.

Think about all the labour that went into the maintenance, How many hours to fix it up right to get it ready to drive.
No worries about a snapped t belt. new water pump. no b/s. new alternator. cams already in so no need to open it up.
save time and money.

Still too much money guy. 1G's are worth no more than $1000-$2000 at the most. If your friend doesn't lower the price considerably, he will have this for a long time.

Good luck with the sale though.

If I recall there was a mint 1g for sale on here for 7kish that sold within a month.

The car is a drive away, not a fix it project. The price is dead on.

The beauty of a car is they are worth what someone is willing to pay. Ask for what you think is fair and accept what your willing to accept.
Looks like it might attract a aftermarket oriented person and they will sometimes be willing to step up a bit more for the right things if thats what they are after

I was in the market for a car, If i had not already bought my eclipse i would have grabbed this car in a heartbeat. I think the price is fair. IMHO

Speaking from experience, 1g>2g.

Most people have some knowledge about fixing cars. But all these items were done by a professional. You don't need to worry if the timing is off a tooth. you don't have to struggle to get the oil pan off and back on. Everything has been replaced and/or fixed when the T-belt was done.

B/S removed, Cams put in, oil pan dropped so resealed.
Alt put in, water pump, tensioiner. oil and filter, battery.etc.

I see someone can avoid all the frustration and aggravation
of doing this themselves in their driveway making a mess.

Yes it may be more expensive than the regular $1000 get it out of my drive way and take it away car. Tack on all the parts you will need to buy to make it safe to drive without a engine blowing up and how much would that $1000 car cost then? it has more than $900 in parts alone. These are upgrades and maintenace so you dont have to worry about a break down and tow on the side of the highway. No worries about maintence in the near future.

Add those 2 figures up and you get $1900 and still no labour to fix it yet.
This is basically a 1 owner car. garage kept for the last 7 years.

So really it's like buying the car for $1800 + $900 in parts (parts pricing was at trade rate which is cheaper than what you get outside. Many people do get discounts but probably not as much as he would) + all the free labout (ask yourself how long it would take to do in the garage on the floor? How many nights after work would you spend doing this?)= $2700.

PRICE DROP NOW $2650. A deal if you ask me.

PRICE DROP!

$2600 or goes to Kijiji next week.

I'd like to sell it to someone who knows about DSMs and would build it to a decent potential.

Wouldn't take much to have a 12 second car as you all know.

Good luck with the sale and I hope he goes to a good home.

Don't think it's cheapness, just the fact some of us don't have the space or the funds at the moment. I'd buy it as a second car if I didn't need to pay back the government for loans :S Definitely a good grab for that price though. I'd suggest autotrader if you don't want to deal with the low asking prices of Kijiji people and can't sell it here.

Nah, it's definitely cheapness. We're DSMers.
Lower the price to $500 and watch this forum come alive wink

Guess it's just me then, when I see other cars (not DSM) go for that price and people complaining they pay too much for a DSM makes me cringe. Good platforms, good looking with the only downside of the insurance (young crowd). Best of luck with the sale though.

Bad on insurance? Damn, I'm paying more for my autotragic econobox daily driver, than I was for my Talon which made twice the power.

And I agree on the cheapness. I believe the price is good for the car, but $500 it would be gone in a matter of hours lol. I put my clean 1G FWD shell up for free and it was "sold" in no time, I had emails and PM's coming out of my ass.
