I think you mean the passenger side, and its getting painted in the spring so will fix it then, it has a top crease which is aiming the tip of the fender up. The eclipse bumper will be going back on before paint, also need to find a rear bumper and spoiler.

Jason W. if the 1g single piston are just as usless as the 2g singles you going to love the duals.

Some of my friends think I spent a fair bit of money swapping them in, it made that big of an improvement.

The single pistons are pretty damn good in my opinion, I would be curious to do a comparison! Is it a lot of work Jason?

Number is pistons is not the only factor, the size of the piston makes a big difference. The Baer's on my car are only 2 piston but they are about twice the size of the stock 2g 2 piston calipers.

I think the best way is to figure out the braking force of a caliper is to calculate the total AREA of all the pistons. It is also surprising how a small increase in diameter makes a BIG difference in the area.

Also, increasing the area of the piston intensifies the force behind it using the formula F=PXA where F is braking force applied to the rotor, P is the pressure of the fluid behind the piston and A is the area in which the fluid is being applied to.

A 1cm2 with 100psi applied = 100lbs of force
A 2cm2 with 50psi applied = 100lbs of force

Increasing the size of your piston will in turn increase how deep your teeth dig into the steering wheel. wink

Well it was a lot of work but I enjoyed it, I ahve tried to be involved with the build of my car in every aspect up to the point where I run out of talent...timing belts!! (I know how to now do one but still its not worth it in my opinion to take that risk)

I did the whole brake upgrade new rear rotors and pads picked up the crossed drilled, pads and calipers from a guy on here from Que and spent my time sand blasting them to get the red pain decent on them (big help in clamping force of a caliper if it looks cool!)
I started at 11 and worked straight through to 4 and also did the braided front brake lines. Not bad for a mechanically inclined person not a mechanic.
Results have been happy its better braking all round but never having to stuff them hard yet I have not had to taste steering wheel.
All in all the work was fun I learned a few things about how to bleed a brake system a bit easier (Gravity) and did it all for 300 bucks when I did the math from the dealership side of things it was close to 2 grand parts and labour

Just to add to that Ryan, the 2cm^2 piston will require twice as much fluid to move as the 1cm^1, you're just using the fluids as levers. Within reason all is good but go to the extremes of large and a huge multi piston caliper mounted to a stock master will feel mushy since your pedal will have to move so much further to move enough fluid to build the pressure it takes to stop the car (mind you it would still probably stop the car way faster than stock ;)).

Ah however that may be, it still requires less force on the brake pedal. You cannot compress a fluid, so no matter the size of the system, any small amount of pressure will translate into a great amount of force placed on its acting area. A 1cm2 piston with 25lbs of force will create 25psi of pressure, applied to a 2cm2 piston will translate into 50psi of force. wink

Hey Rob, nice crank. wink
