If your car is AWD there is a good chance it will pass.

I failed hydrocarbons at idle by over 11 times the limit, even with a cat. For people like me, fakes are necessary You failed 11 times over the limit and posting on a public forum about getting an illigal e-test??? Now that is a big time "FAIL"... Ghislain

I never said I got an illegal e-test now did I? I failed the first e-test ever after putting the car together by that much. Now whose to say I didn't fix my issues and passed the second, third, fourth, etc. time? I just mentioned "for people like me" as in, people that fail so hard for the first time, but don't feel like fixing the problem. As you can see, I fixed mine. I have a friend that had DSM fail 3 or 4 times before it passed. I also have a friend that couldn't get his Accord to pass until the 4th or 5th. I legally passed on my third test. Edit: Jay, I don't need to, car runs clean now

Ya; I might of misread but defenately think that a public forum is not the best place to ask where a $$$ e-test can be performed.
Maybe I should of dirrect my reply to the OP...

...it can cause the cat to overheat and melt the honey comb inside. I destroyed a perfectly good Cat a few years ago, thing was about 4/5 years old. Selected Anti-Lag for an event. I remember Paul Sitarski saying: "Hey Giz, I saw chunks and flames shoot'n out of your Tail Pipe. You should turn off the Anti-Lag". I pretty much knew what was happening but never selected it off. A little after I removed the Cat for inspection and relised that all of it's guts were gone... Replaced it with new one and never selected the "Flame Thrower" no mo!!! Ghislain

You should move to Saskatchewan, where apperantly you can run a strieght pipe out your fender. Must be hard to breath there. I'll put that in perspective. The population density of Saskatchewan is: 1.75 /km2 And the population density of Ontario is: 14.39/km2 The density of the largest city in Sask., Saskatoon: 50/km2 Density of Toronto: 4,149/km2, Metro: 850/km2 Saskatchewan registered vehicles: 750k Ontario registered vehicles: 10.4mil Vehicle to area ratio for Saskatchewan is: 1.26/km2 For Ontario: 11.3/km2 Pollution simply doesn't exist in Saskatchewan.

When I was fixin up my saturn, I melted the cat, and Saturn told me it would be 1200 to replace it in just parts. He said, dont do it, Its a rip, they arnt any better then aftermarket. Its all a money grab. he recomends afttermarket cats for all his customers and says he never had one come back as a fail. and saturns are bad for melting cats.

I know, thats what im saying, the dealer said to buy aftermarket instead of the 1200dallor oem.
Running irridium plugs(stock) with a turbo and 8000+ rpm and a horrible tune, dosent help either

when etesting at 2000rpms, is your cars still in closed loop? Cause inthe world of DSMAP we always run in openloop, and the guys say they just lean it out till it barely runs and this passes everytime, Even when it shouldnt. I havent needed to etest mine yet so i have no experience etesting dsmap yet.

Well. Assuming you still have not put a catalytic converter on your car... your simply not going to pass without it.
I personally deal with failed emissions tests almost on a daily basis. I find that amongst all aftermarket catalytic converters, WALKER is the best. I suggest getting a universal walker converter,(100-150$) install it, even temporarily with weld in flanges if you like...
Take the car out before the test, get the cat good and hot and see what your numbers are from there. If you still fail, post your results and I am POSITIVE someone on this board can help.
PS make sure your EGR valve and solenoid are hooked up properly as well.. If you do not have an EGR valve installed anymore, HOPEFULLY you have some tuning software that will allow you to retard your timing for the drive test (under load) This keeps the combustion temps/pressures a bit lower hopefully enough to keep NOX down on the drive test. (FWD)
just a thought
