Figures...most shops spray it like basecoat which results in running it all over the place or it looking dry dry dry. Single layer always needs to be sprayed as if you were spraying a clearcoat.

Wish I was closer.....

Well, I figured I'd update as to what's been going on with this car.

We're still working on it, just a LOT slower than what we were. Thank goodness there was no real set "deadline" as it were.

We've filled in most of the holes under the hood that will no longer be needed after the wire tuck. The engine is assembled minus the oil filter housing which will be picked up today, then it's prime the motor and make it complete.

Today we'd like to get the front facia and whatnot back on the car, as much as possible. We're also going to be slowly putting things back on the firewall. We'd like to get it on it's wheels, but who knows.

More pics today, I promise wink

Ok, so some updates.

Subframe is in!!! Still missing 2 busings, but the subframe is in.

Wire harness is all buttoned up and secured, and a few other things installed.

Motor is also complete and primed with oil.

Should be ready for the 5th of July for the cruise, hopefully.

Very small list of things to be done yet. To be quite honest, the entire car could be finished in a weekend, we just need a cherry picker.

Motor's ready to go, Tranny's ready to go, just have to mate the two together and drop it in!

Unless I do. Rust proofing is my next big project. Damn other owners definatley put it through a few winters. I wish I could slap em. And then find every person that made a door ding before I bought it, and smack em with a door to show them how it feels laugh

The alternator is on the left side of the motor.
It happens to be the right side too tongue Hopefully the kit lasts longer than the alternator were it in the stock location!

This is the redesigned Jay Racing Alternator Relocation kit.

This, coupled with the manual steering rack, will eliminate all clutter in the front of the motor.

We have yet to wire the alternator up as well as the engine harness, but we will be doing that once the motor is in the car. It's going to be completely tucked away. wink

I had the original and two 'redesigned' units. All 3 failed. They have failed many times on many cars. Some have failed but the owner has no idea until it gets much worse. All in all, what a pile of crap.

Meh, if it fails, we'll put it back in the front.

But this car isn't a race car, where it's being revved to the moon every time it's out.

Well guys, this is the last update.

The car will be running this weekend as long as we get the cherry picker. Everything has fallen into place nicely.

To be continued..... at the DSM Invasion. laugh
