Even then, the motor doesn't weigh that much, you'd probably need to start lifting the car with it to push it in. It's more likely they bottomed out on the road..

There is some room, plus the pick-up is this wide strainer thing and you'd have to mangle the tube to obstruct it. Oh yeah and once again Alex, amazing pictures! The 91 were the first to offer an auto could be an early production 91 and they figured it would be cheaper to just make that dome console then to retool a new gauge assembly. Check his build date.
