I shot this last night just to prove the car still runs and the engine is solid before i started taking parts off.

The shell is damn near rust free if anyone wants it after. No rust in the strut towers. If anything minimal surface.

Wondering if you are keeping the sparkplug cover with the engine?

Because realistically he would get close to half as much for the whole car as he would parting it out.

It's not even about cheap. The car is just not worth what your parts are.

I hear where Ruben's coming from. It can take a while to find the right buyer and that can boil down to people being cheap! It gets a little more complicated with modded cars however as I could see someone paying extra for a nice clean shell devoid of mods these days, they're getting quite rare.

The reality is that mods are just not worth very much on the car and the book value of DSM is fading.

you hit the nail on the head. Ruben cant seem to get $5k for a beautiful car because it is a GST. I have about $15k in NEW parts in my car that would never recover in the sale of the whole car. The motor alone has about 8 grand in parts alone plus over 2k in labour. So if i can sell the motor and make back 1/3 of that cost then its worth it to both me and someone thinking of building. Plus factor in the brand new GT30 turbo and i would be butchered on offers.

It breaks my heart to tear it apart as it took me 3 years to build it. I was getting over 440 cfm airflow so it was a beast. Never did a dyno though.

I bought myself an EVO X so obviously my FWD Eclipse has lost its fun Now i need to make some money for some go fast parts for Project X.

You can ask anyone that came by to look at her. The shell is mint so it would be a great project car for anyone with rusting out strut towers.

I also fired it up infront of Nigel while he was here to prove it still runs. Considering it sat since Dec she fired up on the first shot with perfect idle (1000 because of my cams).

i was going to put it back to stock but to be honest thats way too much work and money as i sold the stock parts to purchase the upgraded parts

Book value on a DSM LOL thats funny when I went to get insurance on mine they wont even offer me anything other then PLPD not even window breakage as the glass would be more then the cost of their opinion of my vehicle.
