I don't know what to do anymore with this damn thing. I can't get it to idle/pass etest. It will drive and goes WOT nicely. Raced a 13.2 sec stang at 9psi and killed it.(If that gives any credit)

Too much money into it, and I just don't care anymore to spend endless hours on it.

I'll be 'that guy'...you *are* going to regret selling this.

I'm in Waterloo and more than willing to make the short trip out there to help you get this thing sorted out and running like a top (or at least offer as much assistance as I can).

Let me know! smile

I honestly think there should be a team on here that visits people with major problems and helps them out so they don't have to sell or part out.

Only for those who have seriously tried to get their car working, but just haven't been able to figure it out, so we don't end up with people looking for freebies.

Hrmm.

Is it just the tuning? Hopefully someone with experience on megasquirt can help you out. I've never even seen it personally, so sadly I'm no help.

I've had megasquirt running years back spliced into the stock harness. It idled and ran great with no idle controlers.

Years go by I buy a professionally built MS, build the motor, complicate the frack out of everything, and it doesn't want to hold a smooth idle.

Honestly I don't think it has anything to do with the tuning. I spent an hour playing around with it last night.(it was never this problematic before)

But any potential new buyer will have to figure that out....

Simplify it then. Ditch the compound turbos and just run the holset. I don't want to seem pushy, but I just hate seeing these great projects go to waste.

^ What he said.

Might not help out with MS, but a DSMtuners member (99gst_racer) ran a pretty sweet compound setup. Might be able to help out.

If you're looking for assistance I have a friend who builds and tunes megasquirts. I can ask him if you want. email me at darvesh88@gmail.com as I tend to miss checking PM.

Your Turbo setup should effect an etest as much as how far your seat is reclined.

What are your etest numbers? Lets start with number. they tell most of the story.

A turbo with bad seals/burning oil will effect an etest much more than a reclined seat shuffle

I'm not saying thats Mike's problem, but a turbo can certainly effect an Etest.

Problem is, that the car only runs on 2 cylinders at idle. I can pull plug wires off the one coil and there is no change in the engine tone.

I had this problem BEFORE switching to compounds, with different injectors, with old wires, and with a different ECU/MS unit.

I have 3 different coil Packs and 2 transistors I have switched between.
Maybe they are all bad?

Will trade for clean FC RX7 or incomplete FD project.

Absolutely a oil leaking turbo could affect it, But his HC numbers would be through the roof.

Since he hasn't posted numbers we realy don't know now do we?

Is it Fuel or Ignition that is causing it run on 2 cylinders?

Ignition.
The thing has a mind of its own. The crank mark is 180 out now with the timing light.

I am about to make a patch harness and see if I can get DSM Link running on it without rewiring the whole car... perhaps I should make a new thread.
