A properly turbo'd B18 can pack one hell of a punch in those feather light cars.

I'm going to assume the sr cover is for a 240. I haven't met the customer. I have to ship it to him.

Nissan covers are pretty nicely cast. They put our Mitsubishi covers to shame quality wise.

Which are still better than the plastic valve covers on just about every car made today

I thought that cars today had cast valve covers they just had plastic that covered everything so it looks "nicer" and highlights the only things your typical driver needs to worry about (windshield, oil etc)

Nope, most cars are running plastic valve covers and most cars are running plastic intake manifolds. Obviously the higher-end vehicles or the vehicles seeing higher pressures (boost, etc.) are more likely to be running cast...

The calipers were pretty fugly when I sent them to you.. Keep in mind they are from a 93, so they've obviously aged terribly!

Im still relatively new to the pricing but for a single stage colour, no fittings I think Its 90. (feel free to chime in and correct me Mike)

Yes, we did the were COMPLETELY disassembled. degreased, sandblasted, powder coated and reassembled reconditioning some parts. In Jay's case his seals and boots were in good condition so they were reused.

I saw these in person, amazing work as usual by the crew at Brightside!

Do you stock rebuild Brembo parts or they were provided by Jay? I found a nice used Brembo calipers for around 500 on eBay. Just want to know if i need anything extra before shipping to you for rebuild. PM/post aprx price for rebuild. Thanks Mike

Brightside is a Girodisc supplier so they have access to all kinds of boots/seals for Brembo calipers. Those were Rob's words when he and I were speaking.

Alex, that's a great price for a set of brembo's, and if you have them overhauled by Brightside, they'll be bulletproof!

Good stuff BSIDE!

Front calipers for oem seals/boots is gonna set you back aprox 100 per caliper.

Front Giro Disc about 60 per caliper.

Rear OEM about 70 per caliper.

Rear Giro Disc about 40 per caliper.

Brembo stuff aint cheap, you gotta pay to play.

These prices vary slightly depending on where you buy the parts.

ATM, Brightside doesnt stock these parts.

The good news is the seals and boots on Brembos are very resilient, and in most cases can last at least 12 years of abuse.

The thing I noticed that DOES eat the Brembo boots up is tracking the car and boiling the fluid. The solution would be to use a proper Motul fluid, and possibly titanium shims behind the pads if you are going to punish them on a regular basis.


BACK ON TOPIC, Thanks for the kind words. Its nice to hear positive feedback on the work we do. And it is quite labour intensive doing a set of these. But the result is fantastic.

Brembos are definitely a pay to play calipers. Wait till you price out two pieces rotors!

The seals can definitely take some abuse and usually don't need replacing unless the calipers have some good amount of track duty against them.

But that's what were here for. Drop your calipers off and we can recommend to you if new seals and boot are needed or not.

BTW: My AP calipers saved a cats life last weekend that jumped out in front of me.

Its unfortunate, I see more of these evo(and other)brembo calipers with poor paint/coating than good ones, not sure how brembo dropped the ball on these, maybe the coating doesn't stand up to the brake fluid while bleeding the brakes. I'm hoping its not heat related.

It's actually a brembo problem. Afaik, there was a silent recall on certain cars fitted with brembo's for the sketchy paint on them.

At least they still make you eat windshield when you hit the brake pedal
