I didn't want an evo. If it is horsepower I am after, that is in the garage This was cheaper and had everything that I was after.

Even though this doesn't come in manual, I simply didn't want one anyways. The SST tranny is amazing, and very appealing to me. I guess you haven't read the Magnus review on them Nothing really breaks on the SST, it just wears out the clutches after 400WHP. There are many options for this right now. On a side note, most of these so called problems come from the "Tooners" who have no clue what they are doing and start modding the car without knowing how it affects the transmission. Similar to DSM's, a handful know what they are doing and go fast, the rest of them mod and don't know how to tune, car runs like sh!t, and the bad apples ultimately give a bad name to DSM's

Also, this platform is excellent, and very tuner friendly. 300-400 WHP in this will be plenty enough for my daily driving during winter and summer. I don't plan on going beyond simple mods, but we'll see how well that plays out

This car feels like the new era DSM to me, but 100 times better I don't even care about driving the white DSM since I got it, lol.

Thanks! Alex, my wife drives a 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander SE I don't use my white DSM as a daily anymore, its pretty much just a weekend warrior/fun car now. I was beating on the other maroon 1g for every day use. I got bored of it and now this Ralliart replaces it. The features in this car, make it soo much more fun than driving the maroon 1g for everyday use

I finally got out to Napierville dragway to get in some 1/4 mile runs last night. Wish I would have done a little better but I always get nerved up launching hard far from home.

Hey Reza, did Magnus write a review on the sst specifically or are you speaking of "budget baby evo" ralliart etc. as a whole car review? I'd be quite interested in reading it if Marco did write something up about the transmission. I could not find anything when I searched.

I do recall Jack's opening one up and writing some of his findings on evo forum, which seemed quite informative.

Hey Charles, other than the below review for Modified, the rest of the reviews I have read are on NABR. I guess that doesn't help very much. He pretty much says that almost all SST tranny problems come from "tooners" who have no clue what they are doing. Is that price what it sold for in 2010? There's a dealer asking for $28,995 PLUS taxes for a 2010 with 14,xxx km's on it. I made him an offer on it based on reading that it sold for ~$27 grand almost 3 years ago, and he rejected it thinking I was out of my mind.

$27k Canadian or US ? I think your getting the price mixed up with US pricing. Nonetheless you should be able to find used ones for cheaper. I saw a few used ones, but I wanted that new car smell with the premium package in white. I'm picky

I just priced one with the premium package. 0% financing right now, car cost canada price as well. Quoted at $36k and change. +tax

That sounds more like it, $31k is without the premium package. I sat in one with the cloth interior and I didn't really like it, seats felt pretty basic. I pretty much got the dealer to knock off a couple grand with the premium package in order to make a sale

New cars are not selling much in this market. Throw a reasonable price at them and negotiate.

although circumstancially true, dealer mark up is different and shouldn't be confused from what a manufacturer can offer in terms of "deals"..

mitsu is down so there was probably advertised and unadvertised incentives which differ month to month..

still a hell of a car and regardless of the deal, worth EVERY penny! I've had the opportunity to drive MR's when working with the Dilawri auto group just a couple of years ago and the paddle shifting grew on me. Although, in the words of Jeremy Clarkson "it lacks a proper gear box". I'm partial 3 pedals
