I should be decided pretty soon, I think I have already decided on blue but just give me a week to mull it over and make sure that's what I want.

When were you thinking?

3 gals is the professional car kit so that will definite be good.

I am not in a huge rush as I will want to wait until it's sunny out, plus I am patching my rear quarter this week and still have two front quarters I want to put on to.

Generally after watching a few youtube videos I am pretty good and getting technique down, plus plastidip is pretty hard to screw up so I don't think we have anything to worry about.

DYC has come out with an exclusive Navy Blue color and I'm now sold. Should be great on the Laser.

I can paint. Very well in fact..

I had a little project last winter that I could make a post of, but it's a bit of a PITA having to email the pics, then upload them then tag them..ya...frack it

My dad was a body man back in the day.

word of advice, don't get stuck changing from a dark colour to a light colour and not have enough dip...get atleast 50% more. It will come in handy!

Not till snow is gone probably.
3 gallons for each of us I assume.

So our list is:
-Johnny (Colour?)
-Chris (Black)
-Bryan (Light Blue)
-Robert (Navy Blue)

3 gallons won't be enough. Even if you're already black and going black again. If you want a proper thick coating (which is the way it should be applied), bare minimum get 4 or 5 gallons. ALSO, down the road when the neighbours kid scratches the sh!t out of the side of your car with his bicycle handles, you'll have the exact match dip on stand by. Peel and spray. DONE!

I may join you guys but likely I'll find what I'm looking for locally, unless there's a HUGE tonne of savings to be had.

This guy has a bigger car and went from white to black, pretty sure 3 gallons is enough.
I will get in touch with DYC and see what deals are to be had.

As for glosser best bet would be to watching dyc youtube videos. I haven't seen it in person yet.

Yea.... youtube videos are tricky to determine what's really going on. Would have to see it in person.

Still torn on which car to dip... Leaning towards the GSX as it will see winters and everything nasty opposed to the spyder which will only see sunny summer days.

This is seriously going down!? I'm in!!!

How much to dip the entire car? I didn't see the post with cost.

I'd be in for Black, since my car's black, don't wanna deal with having to call insurance, blah blah blah

Edit: Wait, what about cars with some rust? Do we have to prep, etc. or just spray right over everything to cover it up?

That last part is definitely your call. I will be fix most of the rust before I paint it.
A gallon of paint is 56 I think.

Yes, they do have orange but don't you dare put that on your Talon! smile

Michael, you don't want to spray this over rust. It will spray on but will not peel off very well. Not to mention all the bad stuff the rust is doing to your body while unseen.

Well, if you are going to paint it, might as well be Plasti-dip. You could always come to your senses and take it off. lol

All you guys are hating, but check out this video of our very own Todd Meunier's orange 1G shell. That's kind of what I had in mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKg8UQLVl1g

The only other thing would be to stick with the blue and do all orange everything else as I've already done. (All parts would be pc'ed orange, etc.)

I like the orange. Not something I would do. But if done right I think it would look good.

hahaha, I am laughing my way through this conversation.

I guess it's cause I am colour blind so colour generally look close depending on what they are.

Have you guys tried this before? You really don't need to be a professional painter. Even if it goes on a bit rough it flattens out as it dries. I have used the spray cans which aren't as smooth as the spray gun. When i first tried it i thought oh sh!t that looks terrible, i'll wait until it dries and peel it off. I went to peel it off later and was shocked at how smooth it got.

Also i have no idea why anyone pays even $10 per can for this stuff. You can get it at home depot in the states. http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/100131...amp;N=5yc1v&R=100131010#.UTjyMRwWIs8

Whoa good find Tyler!

Hrmm, all of the customer testimonials make it seem like it's no big deal, just get spraying.

I bought 10 cans last time i went. I first thought that it was going to look crappy like a normal spray can job. Just remember that thin layers is best. Don't try to cover it in one shot.

I got some can's for the rims, but figured the car would be easier with the gun.
