I actually think Orange is a decent colour on a car.

So what is this blue/orange job you are referring to? Have pics you can share?

Well the car is blue, and most of the parts under the hood are orange. You'll see it this summer smile

OK Boys, I've been doing my research and contacting people.

Dipyoucar Canada sells the three gallon Pro kits for $359 with 2 rolls of tape, mixing sticks, the earlex 3500 paint gun, 1 dipwasher cloth and 2 decals. Add taxes and $41 shipping to the GTA.

Single Gallons are $75 but if we were to buy 15 gallons (for the 5 people who expressed interest) he would give us a discount.

They are located in Gatineau and maybe Mike Eng would agree to be our gofer and deliver some on his next parts run to the GTA?

The same Pro Kit as above from the American site is USD $299 + $32 shipping to Niagara Falls, NY. However, if you wanted the spray gun, they are currently having shortages.

Now Dipyourcar sells pre-reduced dip. You could buy the regular stuff from another retailer and reduce it yourself with xylene to save some money. It is also possible to get even better deals than from DYC. But you will still need to go to the states to pick it up.

Wow you weren't kidding Highness, nice work on coding so I don't have to right click to see high-res.

The car look beautiful, did you dip with cans or the car kit? NM, found you post about using the car kit.

Where did you grab yours from?

The only "Horror Story" that I have heard was some guy painted his motorcycle gas can and didn't like it, peeled it off and he said his clear coat was not as shiny as it was before.

Here's a question.... Cleaning the car. How difficult is it and can you pressure wash it??

Nothing wrong with using a pressure washer on Plasti Dip. Yes, if the pressure is too high or you hold the nozzle in one place for too long you could start to peel it off. But the same is true for regular paint, been there done that. embarassed

I warshed mine several times with a pressure washer, no problems. The dip actually stays much cleaner than the paint.. even when the car is rotten the dipped part still looks pretty decent.. it's magic!

I've been through the touchless auto-wash several times this winter... do they even still have touch washers? smile

You can scrub it with a sponge just like paint.. It's tough! It's only coming off if you grab an edge and start pulling.

How does it stand up to small rocks etc, I've found one rock chip on my RA's hood from winter driving on the 401 I am sure. I always keep my distance to try to avoid it.

I might use this just like you did Greg, next winter. I was also contemplating using the 3M clear bra kit about $275 if I install it myself. Covers the hood to the vents, bumper, fenders, mirrors, would have to buy the kit for the lights separate.

I pressure wash my wheels then wipe them down with a microfiber cloth, I've never had any issues of it peeling off, going on my 3rd year.

I'm torn between going to DYW and painting it myself.

I've contacted Jeff from DYW and inquired about a group buy if I do my car and 5 talons. 3 black and 2 blue

Here's his reply:

The 3 black ones 700$cash no tax each and the 2 blue ones 800$cash no tax each that's with a discount..

The blue would usually be 900+tax
And black ones are 750+tax

Your car will be $750 no tax

If anyone is serious and wants in lmk

If you wanted to do good and fast you'd get a real paintjob. It would be a waste to pay someone to plastidip a car lol. And that too 800$ :|.

If you can work on your car, I'm sure you can plastidip. Don't waste money on these types of things guys!

Hate to be such a stickler but I'm pretty sure the correct way to say this is "ON the fence"...not IN it wink

Sorry guys, that was a typo lol

I found another place (dip citi) that will do my car for $650. So for a talon it would be a little cheaper than that.

I still might just buy the kit and do it in my garage smile

Well I know this great garage that will do it for cheaper than that. Funny thing to he, lives in the same place as I do and he has the same name as I do too!!
