I'm with Reza on this one! Far more head aches than it's really worth. My biggest pet peeve is from people that want their cars tuned yet their cars aren't mechanically ready for tuning.

Reza also nailed it on the head when he mentioned answering questions, texts that come with it. Yesterday alone I received 203 texts messages from 1 member, and let me tell you that it drove me freakin nutz!!! This wasn't even someone that had already paid for tuning either

If your car isn't 100% mechanically sound, and ready for tuning DON'T waste our time. I can't stress this enough!

I can totally understand where you guys are coming from. The type of knowledge you guys have with these cars doesn't come over night. But I'd be afraid that your prices are too high, people will just never bother to ask for your help at all..and considering it can be a very lucrative opportunity, if you just don't have the time for it, then tell your "client". I'm just thinking out loud here..

I'm not offering any group buys. If it takes me 10 min to dial in your car, $1000 is the price. That also means I will answer your emails and text messages when I have time and not on demand.
I simply choose not to be inundated with DSM questions all day.

This post should be locked up. I have never seen such a self-righteous post on this forum in all the years that I have been part of this club. If you don't want people messaging you about tuning then don't post such bullshit.

For those of you who need help tuning, the internet is your friend. Even Magnus will tune your car for under $600 using a dyno.

I have to agree. There's a reason why no one in the Dsm community (that I've ever seen) has ever tried to make a "living" off of sharing info or helping another member. At least without a legitimate business. The thing that attracted me the most about dsm's is the readily available info and knowledgable owners willing to share what they've learned and experienced. These cars are pretty overwhelming and even intimidating with all the different facets of modifying. It's reassuring that help is there without someone trying to make money off them.

It totally defeats the purpose of an open forum. Guys won't even want to answer ANY posted question if they're doing it for free and can charge a fee for their info.

I mean come on...$1000 for 10 min?!?!

I've given away parts, answered questions, even given away tools to guys without expecting so much as a "thanks".
