Joe, the DSM has always been tinted. Rims are 17x8 +35 Enkei RPF1's. They weigh about 15lbs each.

I wouldn't call them "mods" so to speak. lol. I have the Rally Armor urethane mudflaps on all 4 corners (which i HIGHLY recommend as you'll notice that your rear bumper is raped by stones and dirt), tinted windows, weathertek floor mats. I have the Evo X SSS wing. Wheels are RTX Apollo 2 18x8 IIRC from Fai Lee. As far as engine mods and stuff go, I am bone stock. I HAVE a tactrix 2.0 cable w/ evoscan and ecu flash. I might have been modded once, popped a tranny, went back to stock and never modded again. But that's just a possibility wouldn't ever do anything to void my warranty lol.

Edit: I have heard that the tactrix is on backorder, so if you need one you can feel free to borrow mine. Though, I am quite a drive away.

FAST key is when you dont need to put the key in the ignition, they stay in your pocket and when you approach your car it unlocks for you, and there is a FOB in the ignition that you use to turn the engine on. They keys stay in your pocket. In a nutshell, anyway.

Got you, my dad's car has the fob thing, but it's just push button start.

The FAST key system is excellent. I never have to pull my keys out of my bag or pocket for getting into the car or starting it.
Other features like the Bluetooth 2.0 and auto rain sensing wipers are pretty cool. I never knew how handy these things were until I started using them. Definately takes the driving experience to a different level.

The AWD system is top notch with ASC, front, center and rear LSD's. One thing I found fascinating is if you hit the e-brake while driving, it will automatically unlock the rear diff so you can lock the rear wheels while power still goes to the front. That's some cool sh!t. Now that's Ralliart! This makes a stock DSM AWD system with only one rear LSD look very primitive

I think bluetooth is cool but in my car I can't hear people so it's not really something I would want. Raining sensing wipers are great, I did enjoy those on my dad's mazda when he had it.

Loved keyless operation of a car, when I worked for Toyota that was my fav feature in my demo. By the time the back side hit the seat it was on its way to starting.
I hate wipers in general so I avoid using them all together until its nessasary

Bah, keyless operation is OLD news. My first cars, all of them worked without keys. You only needed the key to lock or unlock the doors, trunk, and ignition, but if you didn't LOCK the ignition, you could just start it with no key. And in those, days, NO-ONE bothered to lock their cars. Hell, my uncles used to leave their wallets in their cars....
Hell, my FIRST car, I never even GOT a key with it...

Keyless feature is kickass but just don't have your dad go outside and start the car for you and then come back in and put the key holder on the stairs and then you leave, get in the car and then only notice you've left your key at home when you reach Toronto!!! LMAO

I once left the keys to my Evo hanging out of my garage door (car was already running) and drove 20 minutes to my parents place, shut the car off and got out. It was only when I was ready to go home that I realized what I had done and had to take their car back to my place to retrieve my keys so I could start it again to drive home!

I was always wondering about that(smart key) I figured the car would give warning and then cut power. But I guess that could be dangerous as well.

My car does give warnings on the dash and beeps like a mofo if the keys are out of the car. You gotta be pretty drunk to not notice, at which point its probably good that you don't have the keys

You don't want it to just cut out on you either, as that could happen if the battery in the key fob dies. In the manual it says the batteries last upto 3 years at which point if they are not dead, you should change anyways for good measure.

I don't think the vehicle would ever just cut out if the batteries died in the remote. It would cause a no start but you can start them and leave the keys in your toolbox and drive for hours without them they just won't restart.

I really do like the exterior on the new lancers but, IMO, the interior feels/looks dirt cheap... Mostly around the centre console.

yes...that's the old deck, makes me feel like I'm the 80s with a tape deck lol installed it to make tweaks to the sound system's electrical before I put a deck in.



Mind you this is 1.5 week of work nonstop. More to come. Oh and that red beauty in the back is my 2g still being worked on.
