I sell some of his stuff, and it is nice, but often times he makes to order, and it can take forever to get stuff. Worth the wait, though.....
I MIGHT be able to price match, depending on what kind of discount he is willing to give me....

Wow!! I didn't expect expect so many of you guys to like this part! but good! better price..? how could anyone say no right? I need -10 an fittings and polished. The price I got quoted shipped to UPS store in ogdensburgh is $245 USD. it's a PITA to get it, unless I'm there picking up other sh!t too. Ziggy, keep us posted edit: i'm hoping to mount this can in place of my cruise control unit, which has been deleted for quite some time now.

let's start a list of group buyers so Ziggy knows how many we're looking at.
1. Mike Eng (-10an, polished) 2. Andrew Trapp ? 3. Kyle Guba ? 4. Jason Drew ? 5.

Or just have a Frontline Fab group buy, since he makes so many other useful products. Diff covers, valve covers, shields/guards, etc...
All the stuff is made to order, so the discount is going to be based on the fact that we're buying a large quantity of stuff, rather than what we're buying.

Discount is going to depend on pricing he is willing to give me based on what we buy, and a BIG part of the savings will be the combined shipping on the inbound freight. You are correct, though, there is no need to limit it to the catch cans. If there is interest in any other FF product, let's get him a list and see what he can offer us..
I have already asked for pricing on his catch cans, but let's see what interest there is before asking him to quote too many different ways. Not sure if finish and size changes the pricing on his catch cans? If so, it WOULD be useful to know up front. If it doesn't change pricing, we don't need to worry about it until we are ready to order.

Salomon, what kind of 1g stuff do they have? The site is pretty lacking in that section.

OK, I hadn't noticed that. He did respond and ask whether I was eferring to 2g catch cans, so maybe he makes one for 1g as well? I asked what else he offers, but he only mentioned machined valve covers (he sent a pic, looks gorgeous, but I am guessing it would be VERY expensive) and a transfer case brace, plus the diff covers (which he now has an EVO version for).
That being said, it probably IS best if we have all the info up front. This is one of those catch 22 situations, where no-one wants to commit without knowing a price, and I can't get an ACCURATE price without knowing who wants what. I would say base your decision on willingness to pay pretty much retail, plus shipping from me to you and taxes, but no inbound freight or brokerage. I can PROBABLY do slightly better, but that will be determined when the order is finalized. Please put your name down only if you are PROBABLY willing to go that high. I realize some people will drop out last minute, which is why I can't give a final price until last minute. I will probably want a deposit at the time of placing the order, and payment in full before I ship to you.
That having been said, let's get a list going with EXACTLY what is wanted:
WHO - WHAT - OPTIONS
1. Mike Eng -2g catch can, -10an, polished VENTED OR RECIRC??? DUAL PORTS?? 2. Andrew Trapp -2g catch can, -10an, powdercoated, dual inlets, vented
3. Kyle Guba ? 4. Jason Drew ? 5. Pedro Suarez

Kyle, can you please include all the specs from his site (including any options) for what you are interested in, both the catch can and the coolant overflow? I will not be holding anyone to this until I am able to get a better handle on pricing, but still need to know WHAT it is we want when I go to negotiate the price...

Pedro you need to figure out what fittings, finish and vented or recirculated.
Ziggy - do you guys carry those K&N replacement filters for the vented cans? If so, what are they worth?

Also Ziggy, I am sure I am not the only one that will need some fittings, so wondering if you would do a group buy with this on some fittings and hose?

Pedro, need more details Mike, it is Paul that does pretty much EVERYTHING in the webstore Bryan, I have fittings and hose available, this is not something I would need to bring in. As such, not sure I can really do a "group buy" on those parts...I already offer pretty fair pricing.... Mike, there may be others who would be interested..make the offer and start a list

Bryan, that can definitely be done, but we don't need to worry about those details for a while yet.
Mike, I wish I could GET a list of products and/or pics...so far, he has only listed and sent pics of the machined from solid valve cover and the transfer case brace. He did not send prices on either. I have emailed again asking about other products...

Well, time I think is on our side here. I'm pretty sure the majority of us are storing our cars for the winter so realistically, we could wait a month or two if it came down to it.
Hard to believe this "made to order" group buy thing will happen over night.
But how will we decide when is "last call" on this order?
It looks like FF (Andrew) is a one man band. It may take him a month or so just to fab up our list.

I'd like -8an inlets if possible, if not as with Rob, npt threads would be good enough. I'll coat it myself as well.
1. Mike Eng -2g catch can, -10an, polished, vented, dual inlets 2. Andrew Trapp -2g catch can, -10an, powdercoated, dual inlets, vented 3. Kyle Guba -2g catch can, -10an, polished, vented, dual inlets 4. Jason Drew -2g catch can, -8AN and recirc, Raw 5. Pedro Suarez- 2g catch can 6. Bryan Lawrence -1g catch can, -10an, powdercoated, recirc -12an 7. Rob Cauduro -2g catch can, -6AN inlets and recirc, Raw

Mike, I am sure it WILL take him quite a while to fab up our list. He IS a one man shop, and doesn't even find the time to update his own webstore with his own products, so I would think it is going to take QUITE a while to get our list of stuff. I am pretty sure we would be able to ADD to the list until he has everything done and is ready to ship, so I am thinking I should submit our list to him sooner rather than later. He DID advise that he does NOT have a catch can available for 1g, and the the 2g coolant overflow mounts in the stock fusebox location. The pic he sent me seems to have an an male (maybe -6?) fitting near the top, and what looks to be probably an NPT female near the bottom (probably for a drain?).
I think as soon as Andrew Trapp has some info on whether the coolant overflow is suitable for him, I will submit our list to Andrew at FF and start hammering out details. As I said, I am pretty sure we could ADD to the list right up until he is ready to ship.....

Yes it is (kinda, still don't know if my battery is going to be low enough...might have to drop my battery even farther), here is my list: 2g Catch Can: dual -10 AN inlets, vented, powder coated 'satin black' 2g overflow tank: -4 AN inlet, -8 AN outlet, powder coated 'satin black' The inlet and outlet are his typical/stock offering for fittings on the overflow tank. Would you be able to post the picture that you got of the overflow tank? Well, looks like I have a good idea what I'm getting for christmas

Multiple options are available, per email.
However, and this is something that Ziggy will have to find out, what arrangements can be made with the powder coating (that can possibly save money, limit the colours...bigger batches being powder coated etc...)
One other option might be to see if the boys at Brightside can be competitive with FF's powdercoating price.

If you're after a different colour or finish, just get brightside to powder a raw can. It's not really my place to post this but I believe the colours available to you through them are this website: www.powder365.ca

I think he is only charging $10. to powdercoat. Maybe Brightside could possibly match that, no idea, but I certainly wouldn't expect anyone to BEAT that price. I am thinking part of the reason the price is so reasonable for the powder coat is that he only does the one colour?
Anyways, the list has been submitted, let's see what he comes up with for pricing.
Pedro, I could not include you as you have not provided details of what you want..

We have been communicating, but he is slow to respond, I assume he is quite busy. I think he is so busy manufacturing, that he doesn't keep his webstore up to date. Last communication from him was on Monday the 19th saying that he needs to update pricing in his webstore, and everything will be going up a little, around $15. per item. He IS going to give me some discount, and with the shipping all combined and within the US, not into Canada, I am confident we will still be able to do no worse than the pricing he HAD posted. I asked him to contact me when he has his webstore pricing updated, and no response yet. I didn't really want to post this price increase until he had his site changed, as I didn't want people to think I am just saying this to tack something on for myself.
I would say the situation is that I still can't confirm 100% final pricing (I can't do that until last minute anyways, as I don't know what the shipping cost to me will be), but I would say be prepared to pay UP TO the current retail in Canadian Dollars at my door, then plus shipping to you and tax.
I guess it is time to get either a deposit or a PROMISE that you won't leave me stuck with the item, and we can firm up the order.
He also sent info on a few other items. He machines a complete valve cover from solid, but that is pretty pricey, close to $700. by the time I get it up here. He makes a COP plate, but I think others make them for less. He is in the testing stages for a transfer case brace, and finally this, cut and pasted from his email.
I also have the brake/clutch reservoirs for 2g's which I will be re-releasing, but don't have a price nailed down just yet. These tuck all the way over in the corner of the strut tower/firewall area. They really look nice, the only drawback is needing to run new or reroute the old power steering lines. They get in the way. I'm attaching a picture of a powdercoated one as well as the prototype mounted in the engine bay.
I don't know how to post pics here, but if you are REALLY interested, send me an email and I will forward them to you..

I think it is some sort of transfer case brace.
I just heard, he is busy polishing (and regretting that he ever offered polished finish). I think these will be the last items that come from Frontline polished, LOL.
He has not shipped yet, so obviously I won't see them tonight, but hopefully next week...
