Very cool idea on the power steering, what pump is that you are using? or is it just upside down?

What are those two things in the middle?

Those are the ballasts. They attach directly to the headlight housing in the cars these go on, rather how most aftermarket kits work where you mount the ballast separately. Makes it one nice, big, sealed and contained unit!

im thinking the balast will mount to one of the rear curcular openeings in the eclipse headlamp.. and ill customize the other cover plate to hold the projector. the projector it self has the high bead low beam plate so i wont need my second headlight bulbs excep for daytime lights.

i dont know which lamp they came from.. they were rework lamps. humdreds of them.. all scrapped cause we make our own now at work.

and ya the pump is upside down.

He probably doesn't want to be responsible for leaks on the high pressure line.

the high pressure line is easy.. all i did was remove all the hard line and thread the flex hose that bolts tto the pump right to the hard line off the rack. ithink hes worried about the line that runs infront of the rad for cooling. i jus didnt bother with cooling. ive ran many cars without it includiny my last talon and had no probs.

So I think Rob should post his alternator on here for all to see... It would be a crime to deprive others of such beauty

I was actually considering doing mine, but I've only tore apart one other alternator(Dodge Neon) before and it didn't go so well. How was it putting it back together?

I actually bought the new bearings 2 years ago but just couldn't bring myself to take it apart tongue

taking it apart was much harder. I had to DE-solder some stuff, specifically the stater, just to get at screws, which ended up being drilled out.

The plastic inside was really REALLY brittle as well. I had to glue it all back together. I may pick up another junk alternator just for the plastic parts inside now that I know how to take one apart without breaking all those fragile parts.

Assembly is a cinch once you take it apart successfully. I ended up tapping a few of the M5 holes to M6, because I had to drill the hardware out internally, and didn't have spare hardware to use that was M5.....I have plenty of M6 hardware though.

Awesome, thanks for the info. That was pretty much my issue with the Neon alternator, I broke the stater.

I have a dead one to practice on at least, if it goes wrong, I'll slap it back together and return it as a core tongue

On the back side, opposite the pulley, there are thru holes, threaded M5, which hold the internals to the chassis of the alt. Soak them with WD, for days......Might save you having to drill those four bolts out. Wishing I had more patience when doing it.

It's relative. I'm sure we've all seen really nice parts before. However to see such love and care into a piece that adds no real performance or appeal... or will even really been seen at all for that matter is what makes it so beautiful. It's the minor details that separate cars wink

To be honest, the ONLY reason I coated it, was because it was BLACK and corroded, and i was hard pressed to put something dirty in the bay I worked so hard to pretty up. The wire wheel wouldn't even clean it, and it had a rattle. So I attempted a rebuild, with a pretty good result wink

That and I have so much other costs to still consider, I in a sense, cheeped out instead of buying a new one tongue

So we naming this the "Rob mod" on an alternator? M5 - M6 conversion? lol

In all honesty the alternator looks much better in person, since it is matte black.

If it wasn't that difficult maybe I should pick up a spare alternator and give it a try.

Not much patience lately though.

Took me 1 year to install a replacement power supply in my computer. Why? Didn't want to spend time with cable management. I'm anal about my cables in my tower.

What tower are you running? I have the HAF 922. When I first started building computers years ago, wire management wasn't a big thing, but lately I have been the same way, but luckily it's popular so these cases make it easier.

Antec P182 I think it was. Black. Nice and quiet.

Edit: I also like the simple look of it. Nothing fancy, elegant.

Nice case! First time I have ever seen a case that completely separates the power supply from everything else.

Really? There are quite a few. Well last time I checked which was a while ago.

Lian Li was one of 'em. Nice cases, super pricey, but nice.

I will say that all the computers I have built recently have been budget builds so I wasn't looking at any case close to 100$

I agree with Jay, these cars we value so much no one else does so I am driving mine and getting the enjoyment out of it.
