Very cool idea on the power steering, what pump is that you are using? or is it just upside down?
What are those two things in the middle?

What are those two things in the middle? Those are the ballasts. They attach directly to the headlight housing in the cars these go on, rather how most aftermarket kits work where you mount the ballast separately. Makes it one nice, big, sealed and contained unit!

taking it apart was much harder. I had to DE-solder some stuff, specifically the stater, just to get at screws, which ended up being drilled out.
The plastic inside was really REALLY brittle as well. I had to glue it all back together. I may pick up another junk alternator just for the plastic parts inside now that I know how to take one apart without breaking all those fragile parts.
Assembly is a cinch once you take it apart successfully. I ended up tapping a few of the M5 holes to M6, because I had to drill the hardware out internally, and didn't have spare hardware to use that was M5.....I have plenty of M6 hardware though.

Awesome, thanks for the info. That was pretty much my issue with the Neon alternator, I broke the stater. I have a dead one to practice on at least, if it goes wrong, I'll slap it back together and return it as a core

On the back side, opposite the pulley, there are thru holes, threaded M5, which hold the internals to the chassis of the alt. Soak them with WD, for days......Might save you having to drill those four bolts out. Wishing I had more patience when doing it.

To be honest, the ONLY reason I coated it, was because it was BLACK and corroded, and i was hard pressed to put something dirty in the bay I worked so hard to pretty up. The wire wheel wouldn't even clean it, and it had a rattle. So I attempted a rebuild, with a pretty good result That and I have so much other costs to still consider, I in a sense, cheeped out instead of buying a new one

What tower are you running? I have the HAF 922. When I first started building computers years ago, wire management wasn't a big thing, but lately I have been the same way, but luckily it's popular so these cases make it easier.

Antec P182 I think it was. Black. Nice and quiet.
Edit: I also like the simple look of it. Nothing fancy, elegant.

Nice case! First time I have ever seen a case that completely separates the power supply from everything else.

I will say that all the computers I have built recently have been budget builds so I wasn't looking at any case close to 100$

one smooth drift all the way up and around a corner on a hill worth every damn penny This! I am sure as you guys noticed, I didn't do any work on my car until summer came. The winter is my favorite time to drive, and I definitely drive my car more then! During the winter I just sit waiting for a snow fall so I can go for a drift!
