Wouldn't I have trouble getting into first? Clutch would just push the crank over?

A twin disc takes half the effort, so technically no. If you've actually looked at a twin disc, it's about half the size of a standard clutch. In your case, probably not. You're probably disengaging enough to get it into first.

Have you actually checked it yet?

Just jack up the car from the driver side, give the crank pulley a side kick, now go back in the car and step on the clutch. Get someone to watch the crank pulley or measure it with a dial indicator to see how much it moves back out. 5 mintues and you'll have your answer.

I know how to test it I havent had time and still dont yet, and yes I have seen them I have 2 twin disc clutchs in the basement
