Yesterday, I plowed my laneway, and decided to snap a couple pics of the Eclipse while it was warming up for it's semi monthly start up and idle. I know it looks like there's snow in the garage, that's just my boots tracking it in. tongue

When we had our major snow falls (yes, that's plural)..this is what I had to deal with. And the MDX got stuck at the end of the laneway frown

At work, we've been digging out cars daily. 1 row at a time. Allowing for the plow to it's job (questionable skills but done none the less)..

This isn't me, one of my co-workers..to give you an idea of how much snow we have.

Our winter is actually pretty good.

We had just a few meaningfull snow falls; one was prety much 6" and a few less than an inch. Weather has been pretty much between -1 and +3 DegC (daytime) over the last week or so. I can see grass in a few areas of my lawn. At present time; my driveway is also deprived of the white stuff!!!

All in all that is pretty much what I can stomach for snow or cold weather; did I say that I hate winter... Living in a tropical climate would be just fine for me.

Anti-SnowManGiz!!!

I'm assuming the crown was unable to sell their story. Probably due to the fact that it states clearly that the diagram is for all models "but" the turbo! It's all in the details in court

Hey Wade, it looks like you're having a hell of a time you lucky dog!! I wish I was somewhere tropical over the holidays. frown

It's pretty rare seeing an R34 sedan around these parts but they were also EVERYWHERE when I was in New Zealand a few years back for 1 month. And the odd V-Spec drool

Funny thing you post that picture of the 20" chrome wheels. They are the EXACT same as a 4G Eclipse around Ottawa. I'll see if I can find a pic of it.

Couldn't find a better picture, but this thing hauled ass. Had it up to 196 and decided "alright... that's enough...." I'm too poor for a sled of my own, but this was my bro's. I guess there isn't much else to do up in Petawawa during the winter months.

My initial winter period was occupied by me doing almost nothing because I had to let my MCL in both knees heal (Hockey injury I got just before Christmas, tore them while stopping the breakaway and taking the guy head-on because he apparently really wanted that goal....Made the save though ;P).

Hehe tongue Huge tires though! Funny enough I'm actually working one of those really expensive 1g 1/16 models to look like a Plymouth Laser since I have one now. laugh It'll be the only one of it's kind (with no spoiler as well).

I have a lot more, though most of them are more scenic ones that my wife took from the Jeep as I would pull over every now and then to get out to enjoy the views on the East coast. We started at the Northern tip of the Island and worked our way along the East coast on broken bumpy dirt roads, through pools of water that accumulated from rainfall, and climbing up and down some ragged rocky turns and slopes, until we got to the most Southern point of the Island, called Baby Beach. It was pretty much a slow bumpy crawl through the East coast for about 4-5 hours which only a 4x4 can handle. It wasn't too dangerous, you just have to take it easy as some rocks can be sharp and you don't want them penetrating the Jeeps tires. We pretty much lapped the island in 6 hours. I'll post up some more scenic photos later smile

There, use that.

There wasn't any change in elevation or hump or bump for about 3 miles. Solid hard packed snow. So fun. laugh

That's crazy! I have done that many times on a bike, but that is paved roads. Snow doesn't sound as flat.

I've had snowmobiles up in the 170-180 range before. It's a blast to say the least but yah, when you're at that speed you realize just how screwed you'd be if even the slightest thing went wrong, especially given that I've typically done this on frozen lakes where the ice is nice and thick...perfect for breaking a fall!

The craziest part is letting off the throttle and the snowmobile slowing down so fast you feel like you're going to get launched forward off it (especially if there are any bumps). Pretty much never need to actually use the brakes on one.

It's the weirdest thing..about 3 days ago we had a frost-bite warning in the morning. With the wind chill it was -28*. Now we're going to hit +15* this weekend...? WTF is going on?

Yeah if only Halifax could get that sort of mess we only get a joke for snow, 10cm and people are in mass panic. Back when I was a kid we got snow not like NFLD but we got 10 blizzards a year (yeah they only called them blizzards not weather bombs or the rest of the crap they name them) I miss those days.
I just hope every one in NFLD stays safe and that they can get out and enjoy it for what it is.

That was a sheet of ice from a 3 story building. It came in late last night and I was looking after the clients. They told me that the largest piece of ice went through the sunroof and landed on the passenger seat, they needed 3 people to carry it out.

Watch your heads out there wink

Ryan I do this every year! Here's a few past storms with my various DSM's.. This will be the first year for the Evo tho, see if she can cut the mustard now when I try to break her out later. It's currently almost 100% buried and we still have 30-40cm coming today!

Even if the cost to repair isn't worth the entire value of the car (that's assuming it can be repaired to full/proper structural integrity, which I definitely question), the dealership would have to sell it so greatly discounteed that I doubt they'd accept anything less than $$$. If there's any damage to the interior it is a guaranteed write off. A lot of cars get written off if there is a break in and the seats get torn up. S2k's being a perfect example.

Some shady used car dealer will buy it at auction. Hack and slash it back together and sell it to some stupid people in T.O at a mall parking lot at night. Then I will see it for warranty. What's the VIN Mike?

What do you need the VIN for? tongue guaranteed the insurance claim will show up on a CarProof report. But I am curious to know what the estimate was. I will post back later today.

You would be amazed what doesn't show up on CarFox.

The cars that look abandoned, do you think it's because they had outrageous fines? I've heard something like that before

A lot of those abandoned cars are people who left in a hurry.

The airport has a section of its own abandoned cars. Those people definitely left in a hurry. Some have even more dirty/sand/dust covering them that these ones.

Your girlfriend's closet
Should've went with the N/T throttle body - 1 less potential boost leak! But looks great.

Then you couldn't use the tb elbow. And it's more modding to the uicp. Plus for me, I have an iat bung and sensor welded to my 2g tb elbow. Just a little dremel work and done.

In fact, I have a 1g nt tb up for trade if some has the turbo one kicking around.

Exactly, I want to keep my TB elbow as it works perfectly with my FMIC and I've never had a leak issue from it before. I will be adding a bung for an AIT sensor as well.

Well so far I got a speeding tiket! 2days ago i got pulled over doing 96 in a 60 zone. walbridge road by the collage for the locals. Its a stupid 60 zone area.. nothing but open road and trees, but Im normally good at watching the speed traps in the area. This time I was off in thought. Cop dropped it down to 75 in a 60 which was only a 50 dollar fine. Much better hen the 250dollar fine it should have been.

Yeah definitely agree on the weird to drive on, it was much more of a slippery drift than I am used too and I really had to watch my counter steer cause the tail came back around much faster.

Either way your insurance is gonna take a hit, whether it be 5km/h or 50km/h over the limit.

Well I got screwed a few years ago, and am just recovering from it. No chances being taken here.
I will fight every single speeding ticket, even ones that are legitimate.

I had two 5km/h over and one 15km/h over in the span of 3 years and I got slammed.

2, that's two times, I got booked for 5km/h, and yes really I was driving at the speed limit according to my goddamn speedo, but both times I was "clocked" at 5km/h over.

The 15km/h over was actually reduced, so I couldn't say sh!t there. smile

eh its alot easier when your old.. they dont pic on you so much. Plus I was in my envoy. It wasnt considered racing even tho I was doing 96 in a 60. if i was in my talon.. and shaved.. I prolly would have been burned for the full 36 over. And prolly beaten.lol.

Hehe jk.. the cops here arent that bad... Eric.....

I wouldn't order ANYTHING from that site.
I tried to get 2 T-shirts printed and sent to me, both times the prints weren't centered on the shirt and they were skewed.

Since were on phones...

My kid (who loves is iphone) just upgrades his iphone 4s to a 5.... I asked the rep at future shop if it was better then the galaxy 3.. she says not even close. And says that samsung is gonna release a better phone.

I see the end of apple!

Really Jay ? You declare the end of apple by something a rep told you LOL. Im all for galaxy but apple has lots of other products and will not die that easy. Its true the galaxy is alot better better but apple customers wont make the switch. Example: Your son decided to go with the 5.

Well, lets not get hasty. First off, apple has a massive following which will take some time to break down. Also, blackberry has the newest generation smart phone as they have recently rebuilt from the ground up which is something that all other smart phone builders are yet to do. Everyone is taking what they have and making little bandaid fixes here and there to make them more appealing to the consumers, but then again everyone will shell out money for something with little to no improvements and BUGGY!!!
So we'll see what happens. Apple has done a super shitty job at upgrading their phone. Sure, lets make it faster, bigger, and keep the same battery. Bravo you idiots. But no one cares... They'll fork over 800 bones for a new phone with little to no significant improvements. I've been rocking my iphone 4 for 3 years now, and it only bogs down when I forget to close the background applications (10+)

he had to upgrade... his 4s was a peice of poop and messed up all the time. starting with he power button never worked. I had it under warrenty so we had it replaced. He wanted a samsung but they wouldnt upgrade to anything other then an iphone. Now that he has the 5 he wishes he would have saved the upgrade fee and just got another 4s.

Yea, I've heard not nice things about the 5. First off, the ios 6 on there is already battery draining, but coupled with the larger screen, FORGET IT! Guys at work have to charge their phone 1/2 through the day with light usage.
