Cheaper car insurance here too, my talon costs me 125$ a year to insure. Its very unlikely it would even come close to passing an etest.

I would say a year Quebec insurance is cheap, But you pay alot more for your registration renewal. It was over 200 back in the 90's. I had 3 cars and a motorcycle insured for just over $600 a YEAR full coverage.

Yup 125 a year, mind you plates are 260$ a year, but I only have it plated for half the year so owning my talon costs me about 250$ a year.

Mind you, plates for my bike are another 600$ plus 550$ for full coverage.

My jeep costs me about 500$ for full coverage as well. Plates for it are about 260 as well. Thankfully it falls into the smaller engine category. Engines over 4.0L are dinged per 0.1L over by something like 10$.

$400 a year for full coverage on my 2g, that's with an accident on my record back in 2000. I have 3 vehicles on my policy, totaling around $1000 annually.

The extra charge for the plates based on displacement is a bitch, that's why I sold my 99 Dakota 5.2L and bought a 94 Ram Cummins diesel, it is exempt from the extra charge and gets far better fuel mileage.

I juts wish Ontario insurance providers would include a case of KY with the annual anal pillaging.

But your not really comparing apples to apples. There are many differences between Quebec and Ontario insurance. You Million dollar Liablity is covered by the Government not the insurance company.

The alcohol price in Ontario angers me on a whole new level. Having ventured down south quite a few times in the very recent past, their $22.99 60oz Sailor Jerry's makes me fume at the tax up here. I know it goes places, but frack... Some nights I want to get drunk for less then $40.

I thought I heard some nonsense about the alcohol industry in Ontario maybe going private? I dont' know. I rarely watch/listen to the news because is all too negative.

Not quite sure how long it stays in the records here, but I didn't even claim it, I was driving my parents pickup and they claimed it on their own insurance, and 4 or 5 years later when I switched insurance companies they asked if I had ever made a claim, to which I said no, as technically I never did make a claim, well they denied me instantly for giving false info and reference the pickup accident.

Honestly, the only thing the SQ care about is where they can get an easy ticket such as for an exhaust. When I got my ticket 2 years ago, the photos the officer took for evidence clearly showed my rear tires were bald, not a thing was said about that by him or in court.
