On a 1G (manual) pedal assembly, there are 5 bushings - 2 identical ones for the brake pedal and 3 different ones for the clutch pedal.

I'm trying to gauge interest in a complete bushing kit. The 2 brake pedal bushings would be brand new Mitsubishi OEM parts, as they are not typically problematic, but worth replacing to eliminate any slop given their relatively low cost and the fact that once you get the pedal assembly out, you never want to take it again.

The 3 bushings for the clutch portion of the pedal assembly (2 on the clutch pedal shaft itself and 1 on the linkage/lever bar - where the rounding out typically occurs) will be made of oil impregnated brass. I will be machining these myself.

I do not yet have a price in mind; I'm just trying to see if anyone is interested in a set.

I can also include a new lever/linkage arm (I am replacing mine and would recommend others do the same if the clevis pin hole is way out of shape), but they are pretty pricey for what they are.

Let me know smile

I could also offer rebuild services if anyone is interested. Hopefully I can get a spare core. Could even get them powdercoated by the guys at Brightside. (They are untreated steel from the factory i.e. rust magnets). Obviously any additional services are subject to extra cost.

When you do the bushings, are you still planning to weld the pedal arm to the linkage?

Or the new bushings eliminate that step?

I almost forgot what 2nd and reverse gear feels like.

I'm (probably) going to try without welding for now, as welding it means I'm in the whole for a new clutch pedal AND lever arm if I ever have problems.

I'm not advising against welding, but if I do weld it, it will be with the brass bushings and new lever arm as well, so that there is no chance of welding it out of place, which is the biggest risk with welding it.

I know Shep sells pedal assemblies with the brass bushings AND welded (although most places only supply brass bushings for the shaft and not the lever arm - in fact, I've never seen anyone else offer for the lever arm).

I'd be interested in a full brass bushing set, depending on price. I don't really need it but wouldn't mind having a spare set for my spare pedal assembly. Also, I don't think any of these parts really need to be powdercoated smile

I don't think they need to be pc'ed, but they are pretty nasty and ugly/rust after 20 years of sitting under the dash. Personally I'm just going to Rust Check them and then rattle can black (or maybe orange ;P). But...some people like to PC everything. rotate

Once I figure out the cost of materials I'll have a price. As mentioned, the two brake bushings (identical pieces) will be OEM as the cost/effort vs. benefit is negligible.

Agreed, a light coat of rust check is probably all it needs smile
