I was at that meet,hell I was at every meet,didn't see my car but saw Mike Jacksons Quadzilla 2,not to be confused with Quadzilla 1.I remember a really cold early spring day,Mike and I were the only DSMs at Sparta that day probably 1999.He used to have a buddy with a type r he would race,that guy used to post on here to,ah memories.

I'll let Jeremy decide if he wants to post numbers since it's his situation, but saying I cringed when I heard the number would be an understatement. All I know is a tub of white grease ain't gonna be anywhere near enough for the raping going on.

And, I look forward to the meet - I just hope I'm showing up there in the Talon and not the Malibu. The list of issues to fix keeps getting longer and longer...not the other way around, unfortunately.

When I was living in Kitchener and got my licence back after my second suspension..unpaid fines.. 2 of which were over 400 each.. and lots of speeding tickets. I had a hard time finding an insurance company that could help me. I was paying about 478 a month when I lost my licence.. Pioneer in the Fredric mall In kitchener took me im. With outstanding rates! Find them or a broker. Insurance companys will tend to compete if you shop around.

And .. a DSM is cheaper to insure then a honda civic.

I'll definitely be doing some shopping around.

I really don't want to get into it, because it's been pissing me off for years already. Simply put: if I find an insurance company that quotes me HALF of the cheapest quote I've received so far, I probably still won't be able to afford to drive it this year.

i used to pay $450 a month for only liability on my 1992 mustang when I was 19, now I pay around $220 a month for my 3 cars 2 of which are fully covered. all I had to do is not get any tickets for 10 years straight! it was tougher then it sounds

Depends. I was over 25, but with 3 speeding tickets, my insurances was pretty pricey, and since all tickets have dropped off, it hasn't dropped much yet.

I was paying $250-260 a month just for liabilities with Belair Direct for a 2000 Civic, and the price for the 97 Talon was the same, so I was paying 420, if I remember correctly, for both cars, liabilities only.

I've beaten this horse dead, but once again I must mention my speeding tickets were bull. 5 over, 15 over (real), 5 over.

Edit: If you don't mind me asking, is there a reason why your insurance is so high other than age? Accidents or something or they just don't like you?

Long story short, I didn't get to do much driving when I was younger, so in my early 20s I was still a retarded 16 year old who just got his license.

I also had the cops-have-a-hardon-for-me issue. First week in Guelph, a muffler ticket and full MTO inspection. But when they pulled me over for doing 2KMH over the limit, he was "nice" enough to let me off with a warning.

The legitimate 15KMH over the limit they nailed me for.


It would be absurd for me to blame the police, but they've certainly done plenty to help.

sh!t man I can imagine, I did some dumb sh!t when I got my license. The worst part is it was my mom's car I was doing it to!

When I won a $1000 lotto tiket.. I paid off my fines 4 1/2 years after got suspended...The insurance company wanted a driver abstract. I went to the dmv and it came out clean. I told the lady I had been suspended for 4 years.. She said the records only go back 3 years...it dosent even sho that I was suspended! My insurance was 35 bucks a month. My problem was that I asked all the insurance companies what they could do for me after being suspended with a really bad driving record. I got lots of really high quotes.

I had following too close, careless driving, and an open alchole in the vehicle fine. Plus about 4 or 5 speed tikets.. for times I got caught. This was all in a 72 cutlass with a edelbrock high rise intake with a custom biult 4 barrel carb.. headers.. dual exaust.. and a hurst shift kit! oh and my rear tires were non street legal sliks..

Those were the days.
