How neat are we talking?? Zip ties, Velcro straps, and cable sleeping are all you need. It's Ike making a wiring harness for your living room. (Minus the e-tape) run all with wires in bundles depending where they're going.
I have a wire hanger under my desk from ikea. It keeps all of the lengthy wires out of sight. Looks like a rats nest, but its organized. Aside from that, I have wires running in the supports of my desk, out to my AV equipment, and up to the screens. All fancy and neat .

Aaaand my seccond power supply fried (Hope its just the PSU). After working at 100% for 23 hours, it died. Time for an upgrade.

I believe 550w. I'll check when I get home. Made by Ultra. I didn't use it often, so there's no reason it should have blown. Tiger has a 650 watt for $60 by Ultra. Might try my luck with that.

I would just go 750, your system is beefier than mine and that's what I am running.

I used to rock a 1000w XION PSU. That thing was garbage for holding a seady voltage. 12 and 5v rails had a difference of +/- 0.1v. Ended up getting a 750w For $70 after a mail in rebate of $10. Maybe next PC I will feel rich and finally buy a modular Corsair one for $130+

If I recall correctly, I'm running an Enermax Galaxy 1000w. Haven't had any issues and my computer is only off when I'm in vacation

I am hit and miss, some days I leave it on 24 hours. Some days I turn it off over night.
When I was still at home it was always on.

I've got the Corsair TX850M, which is actually a 1000w psu, but Corsair rates their PSU by constant power, not by peak. Much like Seasonic. Other companies like Cooler Master, rate it by peak, so a 600w Cooler Master may only actually put out 450 - 500.

I'm thinking about picking up a new gaming mouse. I've been looking for a mouse that has a pad for my pinky as I'm a picky dragger, not a claw mouse person.

I think I'm going to grab the Razer Ouroboros. It's both wireless and wired. Rechargeable if you go wireless, it's an ambidextrous mouse, but you can lock the front and back buttons depending on what hand you are. Here's a picture


Currently I'm rocking this bad boy, and have been for over a year, amazing mouse and has been great, but I'd like to grab a mouse pad, but I can't because the feeling of my pinky dragging on a mouse pad grosses me out... lol

I've always stick to Antec, Corsair, XFX or seasonic based PS. None of them hasn't let me down yet *knock on wood* .

Thought i would get used to this thing, its been over a year now and i still find it very small. My hands tend to cup during hardcore fragging.

My most comfortable mouse ever was my Logitech G500. Even when said hardcore fragging, my hands just lay on top of it - rather than cupping the mouse per se.

Psus don't HAVE to be expensive. Even good manufacturers have "bad days"

I bought a 1kw "azza" I think it's called and it's perfect even today.

After a quiet night at work, I decided to do some wattage calculations and think more about my PSU choice. Seems with the added 6990, I am going to be requiring (an estimated) 1023w.

Soooo... I am going to splurge on an Antec 1200w PSU and a case that can fit the thing.

Yup. Got one 6950 2gb (Unlocked shaders to make it a 6970, then overclocked) and once I have the supporting mods, I am going to pick up a 6990. They go for pretty cheap these days (only $250-300 used).

You can run two different cards in crossfire? I thought they had to be the same cards?

I ask because I am on a 6970 and my 750 watt psu is doing fine.

A 6990 is just two 6970's in CF on a single board. Its nice, because there is no external link to merge the two together. Unfortunately, the card is VERY long. It needs something like a HAF 932 or larger case to hold it. (Used to own a 5990)

There are some cards you can mix, as long as the architecture is the same.

Just got a Seasonic X-1250w for $225 shipped. Not bad as Newegg.ca wants $299.99 plus shipping and taxes for it.

Its best not to mix gpus if you can avoid it. For whatever reason they like to play along better together if thy are the same family ex 2x 6970's vs 1x 6970+1x7970



You should still be able to get some life out of your 6970 and when the new 8xxx's come out buy another 6970 and crush xfire

If anything, wait for the 9xxx series to come out (so that the 8xxx ones are cheap by then). I bought a laptop a couple days ago from some guy who works at AMD. He said that the 8xxx series are supposed to be a major improvement.

Honestly as the years have passed I have been spending less and less on video cards. I used to have a budget of 200ish 6 years ago. This last video card my budget was close to $100. If it wasn't for luc I would probably still be running the 5750 I had in here, that was giving me issues when it was overclocked.

I used to cheap out on the video card, but you just can't do that if you want full HD graphics. Especially with the CPU's that can be overclocked really well for a good price, so now I budget more for a video card. I plan on spending about 400 - 500 on a video card when I do upgrade, but I just end up selling my old one which usually cuts the price of the new card I'm buying down by 200.

I finally got rid of my gts 250 for 60$, but that was by luck as it has been up for sale for almost a year.

Keep in mind Stephan, that it will work, but to perform optimally and properly, always try and match 2 or 3 of the same card. Just eliminates that one more thing that could mess things up.

I know. I used to have a 5850 in CF with a 5990 and you did notice the micro stutter. The 6990 is two 6970's glued together, so I will have 3 6970's with (2gbx3) 6gb of ram.
