You would hope so.

I wonder how much that would effect flow, although I don't think it would be too bad.

I definitely wouldn't like the fact that the alt and downpipe are basically kissing each other.

with better alternatives out there it looks like he/she was determined to do it this way, some people just HAVE TO reinvent the wheel regardless of whether or not its a good/proper idea.

Better have alternators in stock for weekly replacement.

I like it. It should flow better than stock, it's got a t-bolt clamp so it's easy to remove, and I don't think it's any closer to the alternator than the stock O2 housing?

But no I wouldn't have gone to the trouble. Especially grinding down the welds like that smile

Stock location is still close enough to kill the alternator with no heat shield though.

Saturn alternator FTW. I used to go through 1 dsm alternator a season with my tubular o2 dump. It seemes more and more things are going GM under my hood. Mitsubishi... Take notes.

Forget it man. That sharp bend will create way too much back pressure and you'll lose a lot of potential. Moreover, your spool times are going to increase drastically.

Your best bet would be to cut it, reweld a 45* into a constant bend and out the back.

I went to that trouble too and it really wasn't enjoyable. Rob's downpipe A lot of work. It looks like I had more room to work with than in that pic though. I wonder what manifold it was?
Mine is wrapped and the alt has lived so far.

I would consider that a fail... It is prolly killing the HP potential of the turbo so much he or she could have just left the stock turbo on and made more power.

So many easier options Like make a log manifold and locate the turbo further away from the alt.
