I dont plan on going this far ever again, Some rust needs immediate attention + stitch weld and chassis stiffening/rollbar/cage + weight reduction.
Once the Chassis is done I ll do what money allows and throw it back together.

I ll have to make the time to come back to hamilton as often as possible when things settle down. But the truth of the matter is moving out and finishing school financially kicked my ass. I need finances in order and debt paid off in order to do anything. I have been truly blessed with this job offer. Caught me by total surprise. I ll settle my debts over the winter and see where Im at this spring. Hell though, places can be much cheaper up here! Just would like to have the car in one piece when it needs moved out!

This will always be my first car, My baby, full of old time memories! Being off Daily Driver status was the best thing I ever did for it. Just hope I can immortalize the chassis now, and keep it till death does one of us part.

Thanks guys!

93 AWD. 228k. All stock minus a 2.5" stainless exhaust, and hard upper/lower IC piping. Mint interior, mint leather wrapped steering wheel, no sag in the headliner. Has fog lights, a/c, cruise, ABS, all that crap. LSD rear end, factory EPROM ECU. Factory big brakes.

Body is okay. Hood is rotted cuz it had a bra. Passenger fender is pretty clean, driver side has a small hole. Otherwise no rust in the back by the bumper. Rockers seem nice from what I can see. Door jambs clean. Hatch is clean. Bottom of doors very, very minimal rust. Underneath is a bit crunchy, but should be salvagable.

Tranny is said to be toast, same with the engine. It's currently siezed, however it should run. But it has a loud tick. I know the owner that's owned it before me since 2002. It was parked in 2007 due to the noise, hasn't ran since. Engine was rebuilt in the late 90's and it's apparently bored .020 over but who knows.

Still have original bill of sale/owners manual though. Looks like it's fully loaded minus leather and sunroof, cost $26,500. Build date Nov 1992.

And it was free. Towed it home for free.

Actually there's change in it, so I got paid to own it smile

Damn, wicked deal Lucian!

Is it just me or does anyone else get really happy in finding loose change in a used car you just bought?

Igloos do a good job at keeping heat in so I would say hinder.

well my coolant temps didnt go up while I was driving.

Funny tho.. They havent plowed the road I had just came from... And the snow was flying over the hood at some points. I think if she stays out... Ima definatly put a screen in my bumper!

Man driving dsms in the snow is fun! I dont know if I can put her away!

The cooler temperature is a huge plus that i am enjoying for my dsm's first winter. Definitely need to diagnose the washer fluid pump tho got some awkward stares when i pulled into a gas station to use their squeegee and left

I was more worried about blocking the air from the rad. Freezing the intercooler seem like a no brainer...

From my experience boosting in freezing temperature did not gain any power. It actually felt underpowered. Few degrees above zero was always a sweet spot for me.

I'm thinking of wingless for 2014, what do you guys think?

I have a spare hatch so would shave it and have it paint matched so I would have the option of putting the stock hatch back on if I wanted.

Although a cf hatch wouldn't be a bad idea if you go spoilerless, no need to paint, and it's lighter with no holes anywhere wink

I'll tell you a little story. Two summers ago I went down to Street Tuned Motorsports in Rochester the week before the shootout. They had a bunch of DSMs in their shop and parking lot. On a trailer (just back from the paint shop I'm guessing) sat a freshly painted black 2g. It was all black, had some nice rims (though I forget the style now) and was wingless. I believe it's one of their employees cars or else one of the locals. As it happened I was planning on getting my 2g painted black the following spring (which I did). Also, I had previously purchased an Eclipse high-rise spoiler with plans to run that. When I took my stock 95 thumbnail spoiler off and placed my high-riser on the back to check the look, then removed it to check the look, I was immediately struck with how much better it looked wingless. Then, of course, I remembered the STM wingless black 2g and that sealed it for me. Course, it's just personal preference, but there are a fair number of wingless 2g's out there.

I think black 2Gs look sexy wingless...the rest, keep a wing on 'em, unless you get the CF hatch with the CSL lip, which is sexy as hell.
