I'm going to be phoning around looking into purchasing (55gal) drum(s) of E85/E98/various Sunoco Race Fuels...I will update with pricing as I receive it. Just curious who would be interested. Currently going to get pricing on E85 and E98 from Ignite Racing Fuels and E85R/260GTX/Optima/Various other Sunoco Race Fuels from Kidd Fuels. As far as shipping and delivery is concerned, I have access to an industrial dock/unit (family business) that I can have the order shipped to, but delivery/pickup will need to be sorted out. See here for Sunoco fuel details: http://www.racegas.com/fuel/index

Interested in several 55 gallon drums of E98. I'm pretty serious about this too. Let's get serious buyers in this thread only, people who want it and are willing to pay for it, not people who are just thinking about it and don't know what the hell to do with it

I live 1 hr away from a ethanol PLANT. I could look into pricing too. Also my boss races trucks so maybe he can get a deal with all the fuel he buys. Let us know what you find...only thing will be getting it shipped from you to us, especially given the nature of the product and that it needs special shipping. Just spoke with the local vendor at Ignite, he was on the road so I shot him off an email and hope to hear back either later today or tomorrow. Their products are shipped straight from the plant in the USA, and can be drop-shipped and/or picked up at the vendors location. Spoke with a sales rep at Kidd Fuels, he's going to be getting me some pricing on a number of different fuels (E85-R, 260GTX, Optima, MaxNOS, HCR Plus, Standard, etc.). With Kidd, we can do either pick up or have it shipped as well. Once I get pricing on the drums and figure out who's actually serious we can discuss logistics.

My workplace has just started dealing Shellbourne race fuels recently. We got a lot of pressure from our 8- and 7-second (or less) customers to get an account with them; apparently it's pretty good stuff. They do a lot of custom mixing too. Only the boss and one other counter staff deals with it, but I'd be happy to make some inquiries for you guys when I get back from vacation on Monday. Edit: Fixed spelling. Also, link for fuel.

For some of my customers, I'll increase the list price that's printed on the bill so that they think they're getting a better deal. I'm pretty sure if you were one of my customers, you would fall into that category Appreciate the thought. Remind me to give you some Marvin Gaye music next time I see you. It's about the closest thing to soul you'll ever get I would be interested in e85. I've always wanted to try it. As have I. My interest has been especially re-piqued after this weekend at the Shootout. After talking to Kiggly and reading many more threads on it, it seems like the single quickest and easiest way to get WAY more power out of a setup. Biggest downside is a short shelf life and lack of availability here in Canada. That and the larger fuel requirements. But...you just got a nice new set of 2150's, so you'll manage

Just got an email back from the guy at Ignite: Ignite E85 - $38/20L Pail or $240/drum Ignite E98 - $37/20L Pail or $220/drum Ignite 108 Green - $39/20L Pail or $234/drum Ignite 114 - $38/20L Pail or $240/drum I am waiting to hear back to confirm whether these are 45gal (~171L) or 55gal (~208L) drums. Keep in mind, these prices do not include shipping or handling. If we order enough, we can probably get a price break on this a bit, but I'm not sure. Either way, it's cheaper than Regular Gas for any of these if you buy it by the drum. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, just spoke to the guys from Kidd Fuels regarding the Sunoco stuff - he should have pricing to me by tomorrow and if not, Monday. The guy at Kidd said if we were to get an order in by Tuesday we could probably have this by Friday.

And although you probably know this if you're serious about purchasing any of this stuff, for those who don't, with regular (non-ethanol/methanol/alcohol) fuels, the octane rating is the number given (e,g, 108, 114, etc.) whereas with Ethanol the number is the percent of ethanol in the blend. So E85 is 85% ethanol whereas E98 is 98% ethanol. The octane rating of E85 is usually given to be between 100-110 and for E98, between 120-130. The beauty of buying ethanol-based fuels this way (vs. at a pump) besides the price discount is that you know you're getting 85% (or 98%) ethanol fuel EVERY time. We don't deal with it here since we can't get E85 at the pumps, but they can call it E85 with as little as 70% ethanol in it, which is typically what it dips down to for 'winter blends' at gas stations in the States, due to ethanols poor cold-startability. This can be enough of a variance to cause blown motors if not accounted for. Don't need to worry about that with this stuff

Alright, so I heard back from Kidd Fuels regarding the Sunoco Race Fuels E85-R: He said: I’m putting together an order for next week, probably our last one for the season. Please advise us of your requirements as soon as possible to secure a spot on the truck. We accept Credit card payments. Also, Jeremy Gilbert was kind enough to get us pricing on Shellbourne Fuels: This is what he said: The fuels are made to order. They are immediately sealed, and will last for up to 2 years in proper storage conditions if the seal is not broken.
The prices are plus HST. There is no shipping. They can be picked up in either Milton or Guelph once the order is ready. If you order on a Monday, you can have your fuel by Thursday-Friday. Given all this, Ignite still seems to be the best option, but this guy is slow to respond. Just shot him off another email and will call him this afternoon if I don't hear back by then. Once I do and get final, IN CANADA/shipped pricing on Ignite I will make a separate thread for an order.

I also contacted my home insurance company, needless to say they are NOT cool with me keeping ANY amount of race fuel in my garage (my garage is attached to my house). standard regulation jerry cans are fine tho. Did you contact your car insurance company to let them know that your car is modded too, maybe you shouldn't really be driving a modded car either I have no problems keeping drums of gas at home. Just so everyone knows, VP fuels is still available in Canada. Other than the option of running E95/E98, I like to stick with VP fuels.

Well I guess no race gas for you Sal, I'll take 2-3 drums if the price is right. We'll talk. Like I said, once I hear back from this guy with final pricing I'll setup a purchase thread and get this ordered up. Terry...unless it specifically states on your contract with the insurance company that you're not allowed to keep it there, then you're safe. They can tell you whatever they want over the phone, but if it's not explicitly stated outright, it's not an issue. Also, a sealed drum is safer than a jerry can, and ethanol is less volatile than gasoline.

A sealed drum is safer than a jerry can, and ethanol is less volatile than gasoline. I completely agree, but as soon as my adjuster heard 55 gallon drum he wasn't sympathetic to what type of fuel was in it. Although I do have a shed about 30 feet from my house in my back yard... Appreciate it Solomon I would just put it in the shed. That would have been my first choice, personally. If it's not near any other structures there really should be no issues and I wouldn't ask insurance about it. At the very worst case scenario, you lose a shed...and the chances of that happening (especially in a properly vented shed) are next to nothing.

So Sal, did you confirm that it was a 55 gal drum, cause you said you were going to check it? Also can you explain to a newb what 108 green means? obviously 108 octance, but not sure what green is?
