There's a gas station owned by UPI Energy between Guelph and Cambridge on Highway 24 that sells E85. As far as I know though, the stations that offer it are very few and far between.

I think we need to start a "Mouvement" requesting E85.

BTW; you do not need to have a Flex Fuel Vehicle to run E85, you need ECMLink. wink

Giz, the problem is Guelph won't let you touch the E85 unless you are filling a flex fuel vehicle frown As for Ontario, theres a station in Chatham, Guelph, and 2 in Ottawa. Theres been a proposal to build an Ethanol plant in Oshawa beside the McAshphalt plant, but the city has been fighting it for years trying to protect the marsh land. Oshawa is an ideal location since we manufacture many FlexFuel vehicles out of the Oshawa GM plants. All kinds of FlexFuel Vehicles with nowhere to fill up.

I for one am making the change as soon as I have access to E85. 40psi daily on a 10:1 motor, can't wait for that day! demon

Why would they prevent a non FlexFuel Vehicle??? There is actually lots of way to convert a conventional gas vehicle to burn corn Fuel...

Now to be honest with you I did not know 'bout the proposal. Idea of the "Mouvement" ain't that bad of an idea.

I was able to buy E85 from UPI on Highway 24, but I could tell that the guy working there was unsure of whether or not he should sell it to me.

He spotted my meth tank through the hatch's glass and said "nice fuel cell". I was in a rush and decided not to correct him. I have a feeling that may have been why he sold me the E85 tongue

I don't run it on a regular basis; I was just toying with it last summer a bit.

Or DSMAP!

Could you use it with a safc, and a wide band? cause I would convert my envoy to e85 and put a flex fuel sticker on the the envoy, and then just suck it out when I get home. I heard they will let you fill jerry cans if you have a flex fuel car.

From what i heard you need to have a flexfuel vehicle to buy it. Whether or not dsmlink or dsmap can work with it i have not idea. But legally they can't sell it to you unless your car flexfuel. Just like they wont fill your jerry can with propane.

But if I have a flex fuel envoy.. That can run it.. then I should be able to get it... AND SELL IT TO YOU GUYS!

And yes ECMlink and dsmap can run it, Most high output dsms and everything use e85.

There is a white older Subaru that runs e85 it. As far as I know they have special permission.

In Michigan there is a place that sells 55gal drums of e98 for around $400. Just pay taxes at the border. I've considered e98 but I don't have the fuel system for it right now.

I just stick to plain old c16, but maybe I'll buy that in the USA for next season.

Is it just the cooling factors of E85 that makes it usefull for higher output engines or is there something else cause from everything i read it get worst fuel mileage is more expensive to produce and has less energy then gas.

/\ It has a much higher octane value than petro pump gas. I have read people state value's of 112 octane. E98 I've read values of 115-120 octance.

Thats because it requires aprox 1.5x more Ethanol more than gasoline. Still much cheaper than running C16.

I can just go across the bridge here to MI and we got 2 or 3 stations that have e85. Not that I'm planning on going that route, but I have the option here. I plan on getting my 93 octane across the river. So much cheaper. When I went across last week it was $3.50/gal which works out to $.92/L... Gotta love it.

I thought you have to run some pretty big injectors and pumps for e85

Where exactally is this guelph e85 station? Address? I'm gonna check it out and see what happens. I need to know what type of station it is (pioneer, husky, petro, esso etc) and a cross intersection.

Thanks
