Those Hankooks are the better tire. But not the best sizing for your rims.

My rims are 17*8 with a killer offset. So either tire will work.

And there used... But claim 80% tread left. Yokos were only on a car for 6000kms.

What model of tire?

I consider treadware before making a decision. Type of use, and as for Fitment, you're good but what is the offset of your rim?

Haha well I was planning to drive across the boarder to get them installed there so I would much prefer the drive to Kitchener.

Just a word on this, since I actually know many people who drive to the states to get tires installed (and save a ton of cash in doing so).

The border guards are aware of this, and technically you should be declaring the tires as purchases while in the states. What they look for are the little dots on the sides of the tires (yellow and/or red, most often), and if they find them you could have trouble.

Long story short: if you're getting tires put on in the states, rub/scratch the little dots off the sides of your tires smile

Good tip, if it wasn't for Stephen offering I was going to post a thread to see if anyone had done this.

I found tires on sales, than went to tire rack and found the same ones. For the price of the ones on sale here I would have had enough for the tires, the install, the gas and to get some shopping done in the states and still had change left over. It's rediculous.

I have the hankook ventus v12 evo tires and LOVE them. They're easily the best tires I've used on my talon thus far. Bang for buck I'm super happy.

Also use the exact tire on a 280 tw, not great for hwy use.

They're both good brands, just depends what you want to use them for.
