All black now Once the paint is cured in a few weeks I will wet sand and polish it. I still need to clay bar and cut/buff the rest of the car. Drip rail thingies need to get redone.

Little update on the AWDAuto.

Doing a straight 3" V-Band cat-back with the V-Bands on the cat so I can swap out to a test pipe for race day. Thanks to RTM Racing, I've upgraded to a Tial 50mm BOV, some better fuel filtering, couple of new gaskets to freshen things up and the fab parts for the exhaust.

Mike @ Brightside supplied me with this -10AN bung'd purple valve cover to match with the rest of the bay and a sourced from here used Magnus street SMIM is going to complete this year's package.

The gasket on the OFH that separates the pieces blew out. But due to quick thinking and reactions, the engine was shut off right after so everything is okay.

Deep is going with an air cooled OFH now.

Also, check your timing belt tension. It's riding too much to the inside.

+1 mine was running twords the fender side of the gears, turns out the bolt that held the timing belt pully worked itself loose. It's a Pita but worth the peace of mind.

Thanks guys I'm not sure who Brian is, but that's not. It's my friend Shawn's 1989 build date AWD. 118k on it, looks pretty beaten from sitting for too long but runs like a top.

As for my timing belt, tension is perfect. Adjusted correctly, the pin can slide right back into the tensioner. All the timing components (except belt of course) have about 25-30k from my old 94 which did not have the belt riding towards the block. Everything appears correct, it's just the way it sits. Everything is tight. It doesn't rub on anything or walk around, so I'm not sure what really is causing it to be off to the left side.

I bought some new Hankook Ventus v12 evo tires last week, will get them on the car next week and she'll be all ready for the trip to Norwalk

I've heard a lot of good things on the Ventus, but are they that good in relation to others? I'm asking for when it comes time to put tires on the 2g. 1g is most likely getting Falkens

They were $88 a tire for 235/45/17, that's good enough for me.

They are by far the best bang for the buck and even if priced the same as their competitors the Ventus still outperform in many categories. The one thing they are usually lower ranked than most in is tire life (km) but if they're going on a DSM then there's definitely nothing to worry about in that regard.

That was my thoughts too, I don't get out as much as most of you so I am not really worried about 280.
The new evo2s are 340 though so that's an option if the treadware really worries you.
