Curious, any modifications to the power steering system?

Or was it just from corrosion/age?

It would be corrosion most likely. Mitsu put a rubber spacer between the two steel lines, presumably to keep them from vibrating. Makes a perfect salt water trap.

I have one. $80 and included almost brand new tie rod ends.

Pretty sure Jay has an auto, it is not the same rack as a manual. Not sure if you could just swap the lines.

ASA shows the part number for Turbo Autos, FWD and AWD as MB861225.

All others, including non turbo a/t use MB861224.

The good news is that the fluid lines MB501433 and MB501434 appear to be common across the board! smile

So APC parts, and Partsource only list 1 rack for awd.. and one for fwd.. lol. thats for a 92.

Rockauto list 1 part number for 92 awd.. but for 93, they list seperate part numbers for auto and 5speed.

Thought that strange as they are all the same across the years for 1gb's. So took a look on Rock Auto and the parts listed under 1993 have the same numbers as the 1992 parts but the 93 parts just have a more detailed discription.

So just for further reference... The 5speed rack from Mike was exaclty the same as the auto rack from my auto car.

Its all good and turning fine!!!! Thanks mike!

Now I have a leaky rack that I will be depowering with documentation. Ive done ut several times before. So if anyone is interested I will sell it when its done.
