These are still available through RTM. But before buying a pair, can anyone tell me whether or not they're plastic or metal and if there are tabs in behind the frame that keep the plate attached to it?

Thanks.

It's got a protruding border around the circumference that would "surround" the plate but not actively hold it.

Thank you guys for the answers.

I'm searching for a plate frame that attaches to the plate, and becomes one piece. I know it's being really picky, but there's a reason behind it. Literally..

I find it strange that dealership plate frames have this "ability" and aftermarket frames do not. I know they're designed for the average consumer that has no need to remove it after installing it.. But I guess I'm not the average consumer. Lol

I did find a neat website where you can customize your own plate frame.

So I had a little fun with it;

I'm not actually going to do this, but thought it was a bit funny.
