I believe you mean "free trade agreement" lol
That only applies to products produced in Canada/US crossing the border

Where'd you buy them from? When I bought mine maybe two months ago I didn't have to pay tax or duty.

Wow $127 fees on a $360 item! I am pretty sure Ziggy fees would have been much cheaper than that.

I hate the conversion rate. I see so many "good" deals, till I pay the converted price.

In the past 10 years? A quick google search says otherwise. And to make it worse, its supposed to drop even further frown.

That $1.19 probably came from XE.com or someplace similar. They quote a "mid market" rate, but try to actually BUY US dollars and you will pay more. Currently my bank (RBC) is charging $1.2379. All pricing in the webstore will be going up VERY soon!

IIRC about five years ago we had almost a full $0.25 over the USD.

You had it shipped by UPS/FedEx must be? Their brokerage fees are ridiculous. I only paid $121 in taxes on my $700 welder by crossing it myself.

I know it was up at like $1.10 or something crazy at some point, but fell and keeps falling, thanks Harper.

There's a super easy way to avoid brokerage and I've posted it many times before. That info is like sticky worthy.

I only ever saw a couple cents over a dollar and I'm right on the border dealing with it everyday.

We never want to be higher then the american dollar.... we need them to buy our sh!t. 2008 was probably the last time we were alittle ahead of them and thankfully that ended. Do rape Harper when you get older you will appreciate what he has done.

"On November 7, 2007, it hit US$1.1024 during trading, a modern-day high"

The CAD did spend a bunch of time over the USD in the mid 2000's but it's been below for quite some time now. It did hover in the 90's for a long time though. The big difference we're seeing wasn't the case until just recently (at least since the last time it was really low which was a fair bit ago).

Ok I was off by $0.15. Lol

But there's a record research tool from 1950 to present and it did get to $1.10 USD back in 2007.

I recall buying car parts from the states and taking advantage of our stronger dollar. What parts those were, who knows. I think I still had my '95 240sx le.
