If anyone is interested, there is a group buy over on the ECMLink forum for a custom CAST Magnus intake manifold for the 2G head!!

If anyone is in, send an email over to this guy 464of2000@gmail.com as hes coordinating it with Magnus.

Deposit of $300 required, then a remaining $700 whenever you are ready to cover the rest.

I'd like to see a dyno sheet/flow chart before dropping that kind of cash.

They've done a ton of testing with the 1g head before putting the final design into production, I can't imagine they would be willing to do the same for the 2g head with only a small group buy.

Testing no, but its their "V4 cast manifold", only real difference would be the fact that the runners go into 2G flange.

exactly, CMIIW but doesn't different sized runners/flange = different results?

I doubt that be the case, but only one way to find out. Would have to ask them to test it.

Perhaps similar results as the Evo manifold (???)

I would imagine they'd use some of the info from the Evo design as they have the same style ports as the 2g head.

I think that's insane money for a few extra HP up top in comparison to a smim.

What's next? Cast front mounts? Lol

Not really, the SMIM's do a good job, but the cast manifolds dont have welds like the SMIM's do that can crack under high boost.

I see it more from a reliability point of view.

I guess when you're making power levels like you. I can understand.

But I have seen cast aluminium intake manifolds crack. Happened to a 3.7L intrepid I owned.

IMO the extra bucks is way worth the reliability.

I'm sure that Magnus makes their intake manifolds better than Chrysler though tongue.

Considering the cost of one is the same cost of owning any Chrysler on the road today, yeah. Definitely. He still makes them in house?

I prefer EVO stuff. Evo III intake manifold is my choice going forward.

Agreed. I think it's going to be a matter of preference, based on ones setup i.e. turbo etc.

With plans to switch to a 2G head/evo3 intake I sold my V3 . While waiting on my shortblock to be finished I threw in a 1G intake for the time being. I was expecting to see a huge difference in the bottom end and mid range. I didn't see any improvements in spool. Infact it felt weaker all around especially up top as to be expected. I totally regret getting rid of it. If I'm not happy with the 2G head/evo3 combo I'll definitely be giving Marco a call!

Interesting Kevin, most people tell you you will see better low end, but I guess that depends on what turbo you have on there. I guess once you get big enough turbo the intake is too much of a restriction as soon as you hit full boost.
Which turbo are you running?

T3 7 blade hx40.

The streets have been cold and I have $hitty tires, so I haven't bothered to optimize the tune. It's running the same tune as with the V3. I'll chime back in once it warms up a bit. But I can tell you with the Magnus I was blowing my tires away at 22psi, now it's taking about 28psi. For some reason the hit isn't as violent either. Boost leak test, and more tuning to follow once she warms up.

I thought I might as well add this since I have real world experience. But so far I strongly feel the car had a better powerband with the Magnus V3/OEM cams combo vs an OEM intake/Kelford272s. That's something to think about for those worried about passing emmisions while still wanting to make good power in a streetcar.

FWIW the car rocked with the V3+Kelford 272s! Wish I would've kept it. Really hoping the new combo shines and provides a nice fat powerband! I've also acquired a billet compressor wheel from KTS for the HX40, so that should also help with further widening of the powerband.
