Just brainstorming over some potential purchases

Looking at an evo x fuel pump I understand it is almost a plug and play but I wonder for the future will this pump operate ok and what will it max out on when it comes to upgrading the turbo bigger injectors fpr etc and tuning with link

any benefits such as less noise from pump vs walbros 190 or up

any cost savings going this route?

I smell a bit of raw fuel in my cabin at totally random times (meaning I haven't narrowed it down to a under what conditions the smell comes)so im preparing myself to inspect the fuel tank, pump system o rings and whatever else to figure out why I am smelling fuel

in the case it is a somewhat bigger fix where I will need to open up the pump or drop the tank etc is the only instance I am considering upgrading fuel pump, lines and installing a new fuel filter and fpr (I know im eventually gonna need to do it when I get link and start tuning)

or can I even get away with a rewire? being fwd I don't see myself eventually being at more than 300hp

What I have in mind is 750-850cc injectors, stock pump rewire and link

now what is the most economical and practical fuel management system

I am running Walbro 250HP rewired and i can barely hear it in my AWD. However, i defiantly heard walbro 190 in my FWD GST Spyder (especially with turn signals on). I wonder if plastic AWD tank is doing better noise cancellation job than metal tank in GST.

Is your EVAP system still intact? If you remove the stuff under the hood, then the EVAP system will randomly purge some fuel vapour into the atmosphere that you will smell inside the cabin.

As far as I know, the stock pump cannot handle 300hp even with a rewire (someone please confirm). I'm willing to bet you'll spend more money to get an EvoX fuel pump than a Walbro 190.

A used EvoX pump vs a new 190, sure it might be cheaper.

I picked up a perfectly good used Walbro 255 for $30 a few years ago; I can't imagine it would be that hard to find a used 190 for less than $50, and they are completely plug-and-play.

As for the EVAP system, it was pulled from my car before I got it, so I got nothing for you there.

Just get a 190, it'll be plenty of that's your max power goal and you won't need an AFPR like you would with a 255.

The evo 8/9 stock pump is an option as well.

Here's some good numbers for you to look at:

If your getting link you have nothing to worry about when removing the evap.

liters per hr is what fall after the walboro numbers so just find out how many lph the evo x pump flows and then you can decide.

if you do a search on tuners they tell you how much air flow each injector/pump combo can handle.

I rock the 255 and yea sometimes it's noisey. I don't really notice it anymore unless I'm sitting waiting to turn. I got 680cc injectors and my car was dynod at 368whp @22psi on a E3 16g

My spyder is still fwd, I daily drive with 12-15psi and I find that's plenty, it barely grips in 2nd when ya giver
